My stay at the JW Marriott was quite short as we'd been touring the city all day and only arrived at the hotel around 3 PM before having to be back in the lobby around 3 AM for an early morning ride to the airport. But what I managed to see and experienced I really liked and would be glad for a return visit to check out the hotel and the city more thoroughly.
The ground floor is beautiful and expansive. There are a number of stores along "The Grand Avenue" that you cross when entering via the front doors. The check in desk is at the back and there are lots of chairs and a lot of open space before you reach it. As a convention hotel, I found that many things were designed around the concept of large groups, and that the staff was quite efficient in dealing with them.
Our twin room was nearly at the end of the hall on the fourth floor and we had to make several turns before reaching it after exiting the elevators. The room had the standard hotel room layout: a short hallway with mirrored closets on one side and the bathroom on the other, before reaching the larger area with the beds. After being on a river cruise for a week, the double (queen?) beds felt wonderfully massive.
No issues with air conditioning here. The thermostat displayed the temp in both Fahrenheit and Celsius and we could make the room as cool as we liked. Our room, 452, had a spectacular view of the cathedral across the street. The afternoon sun lit it up magnificently and at night the spotlights shone brightly on it. Exterior construction was still getting the finishing touches during our visit but by now it should be complete.
The bathroom was large with a good amount of counter space. Sadly our visit was so short it didn't make much difference to us! The step into the tub was a bit higher than you'd find in the US (and that's true most places I've been in Europe) and it aggravatingly had that half-glass panel meant to keep the water out. Since the panel was on hinges (for easier cleaning, I assume) it meant some water did seep out under it. Hooray for the adjustable shower spray and for a single lever that controlled both water flow and the temperature.
The room amenities included a safe, iron & board, and a coffee/tea setup. The mini-bar is only unlocked if you provide a credit card at the front desk. Since we had to be up super-early we didn't bother to get it unlocked.
There are a number of restaurants on-site, including JW's Steakhouse where breakfast is served. We had dinner at Cucina, the Italian place. It was quite good and reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. We left before breakfast was served but were given a takeaway breakfast so if you have an early morning departure, you might ask the front desk the night before your departure to see if that's available.
Due to our short stay I did not have time to check out the fitness area, the spa, or the pool, but they are available.
It's a lovely hotel and I would like to come back to Bucharest and spend more than a day visiting the area. This place would be first on my list due to its location, the facilities, and the service we received.
Absolutely stunning property! We received such a warm welcome and the staff made it so special for us throughout our stay. The room was specially decorated for our anniversary and we also had a scrumptious dessert to celebrate. The views of the parliament and the church from the room were simply stunning! The hotel is conveniently located minutes from old town. Its only a £3-£4 taxi ride and we loved it as we wanted to enjoy the hotel facilities whilst not being too far from old town. The hotel itself also has a well equipped gym and pool area and a spa which I totally recommend. The Thai Spa has a variety of massages to offer and we went twice in our 6 days stay! We loved the ambience and food of Olea and the music was amazing! I totally recommend dining there. All in all we had a great time and would definitely return to this place!

Grosses Frühstücksbuffet, grosse Zimmer und gute Ausstattung, WLAN funktioniert einwandfrei und ist schnell genug für den allgemeinen Gebrauch. Streaming auch kein Problem. Angestelle sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sie versuchen jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen.

The Cucina restaurant , which is located inside the hotel is excellent. Our server iRemus., was very professional, honest, personable and welcoming. Remus gave us great food recommendations. The pork chop and fresh fish were excellent! All the staff- Alexia, Ionut, Geta were very friendly and professional. Overall a great restaurant with great people working here. We also met the restaurant manager on duty, Daniel Giau. He’s extremely personable and show great leadership quality.. We truly had a wonderful experience here tonight.
The hotel is lovely and staff are helpful and friendly. Our pizza at Cucina was served quickly and was delicious. Robert, our waiter, was personable and professional. We look forward to eating here again.
The food and service at CUCINA restaurant at the JW Marriott was outstanding. Our server, Robert, was very helpful in every aspect ofthe meal, wine, selection, and presentation of food.
