Pros:

Dear Hotel Shanker,

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Shanker. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warmth of your hospitality and the exceptional level of service. Every member of your staff was courteous, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, making my stay both comfortable and memorable.

During my visit, I was dealing with a leg injury, and your staff went above and beyond to assist me with kindness and compassion. Their support made a significant difference, and I am truly grateful for the care I received.

A special thank you to Roshan from the Catering Department. Your kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help were greatly appreciated. Your thoughtful assistance did not go unnoticed, and it is people like you who make Hotel Shanker such a wonderful place to stay.

Thank you once again for your outstanding hospitality. I look forward to staying with you again in the future.

Cheers!

Who Wouldn't Want to Stay at a Former Palace
Pros:

A very nice stay. This former palace is both grand and intimate ; a beautiful backdrop for weddings and conferences (both of which occurred during our stay). Our room was modern, spacious, and comfortable. All staff members were professional and helpful. The breakfast buffet was extensive with many choices. I loved the pool area that had its own bar and restaurant and enjoyed both snacks and a light dinner by the pool. Being a former palace, be aware that the driveway is a bit of a walk just to get to the street if you have any mobility issues. Also, because of the nearby embassies and the palace grounds, Google is not accurate in its walking directions and times so be prepared and add extra time for any journey by foot to the nearby attractions. We found Uber and InDrive to work well for the longer distances.

Cons:

The hostess desk at the entrance to the restaurant during the earlier breakfast hours was often not manned. On our first morning at the hotel, we literally were wandering around the dining area calling out to see if they were open because no one was around. We discovered on our own that you had to walk all the way down a large empty dining area and turn right to find and enter the main breakfast area (which was amazing).

Decent hotel with great amenities, enjoyable with occasional negative hiccups.
Pros:

The staff were attentive and polite. The pool was nice. The hotel had the right amount of nepali tradition and moderness that we hoped for. The spa services, massages, were affordable and the therapists were good. Food was good, a wide range of varieties to suit everyone. Some items on the menu were hit and miss but overall okay.

Cons:

There were electrical shortages ever so often to a point where we considered it normal. There was a smell in the hallway on the last day that smelt like paint or acetone. The hair services were done by the spa therapists and results were questionable.
