We did what we had to do and found the locals were surprisingly friendly in helping us.
Pros:

Staff were good. Near the city centre. Interesting locations within walking distance of the hotel. Decent Breakfast. Room was clean.

Cons:

Hotel was difficult to find. The staff at the hotel might want to take note of that. We spent about an hour trying to find it. Unless you know Edinburgh's street layout you can get lost in the maze of back alleys.

Zentrale Unterkunft mit lebhaftem Hostel-Charakter
Pros:

Die Unterkunft hat eher einen lebhaften Hostel-Charakter und eignet sich vermutlich gut für Gäste, die das Nachtleben in Edinburgh genießen möchten. Das Personal war teilweise sehr freundlich und bemüht. Das Zimmer entsprach hinsichtlich der Größe der Beschreibung.

Cons:

Für uns war die Unterkunft insgesamt leider recht laut. Durch den direkt angrenzenden Club war bis spät in die Nacht sehr laute Musik zu hören, wodurch der Schlafkomfort deutlich beeinträchtigt wurde. Zudem war die Lage unseres Zimmers ungünstig (Zimmer 209) da sich direkt vor dem Fenster ein Parkplatz befand. Auch Sauberkeit und allgemeiner Zustand der Unterkunft hätten aus unserer Sicht an einigen Stellen sorgfältiger beziehungsweise gepflegter sein können. Der Service wirkte zudem je nach Mitarbeiter unterschiedlich engagiert.

Zimmer wurde als kleines Zimmer angegeben. War dann aber ein großzügiges Zimmer mit sehr viel Platz.

Great location! Super close to popular streets, shops, and restaurants. Also very close to Waverley station.

Cons:

The hot water wasn’t really working. We didn’t love the “double bed” being two singles pushed together. The beds would slide apart and create a big crevice. Our room on our last night also REEKED of cigarettes. We didn’t have any windows open but we must’ve been above the smoking area. The noise from the bar didn’t bother us. I unfortunately had bad knees during this trip and was told that the elevator wasn’t working, so we had to take the stairs for our floor 3 room. I didn’t raise this at the time and understand it’s not their fault, but it was a bit disappointing.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL unless you plan to be awake until at least 3AM. We got “upgraded” to room 212 and were moved to a louder part of the hotel right above The Three Sisters bar.

We got there on Friday night and there was loud music next door. I was fine with it but kids and seniors had trouble getting to sleep.
