Great location and clean
Had to pay £15 for parking which wasn’t stated when checking in and drinks very expensive
Lovely period buildings with an interesting history. Nice bar area and friendly staff
Found the beds a bit too firm for us but that’s probably personal preference.
We went there trusting the cleanliness ratings, but it was a total disaster. The bedspreads were stained, the toilets were filthy, and even the chair was stained.
It’s location & general kerb appeal
Car park can get busy
i liked the whole package and would definitely come back
nothing
Fantastic location and historic building. Plenty of space to relax and nice grounds / garden areas
The room was a bit small and lacked any real storage for clothes. The bar / dining area was a bit dated, and it was a bit annoying paying parking on top of the room price
Location was perfect
Staff were friendly and welcoming
Parking was ideal
Beautiful property
Didn’t have food but the dining area looked really good
We stayed in the cottage rooms and they were ideal for families
Lots of hair on top of the drain in the shower was alittle off putting but could of been missed
Beds were very firm
Breakfast was good as were the staff.location was good.
The room was never cleaned in 10 days,it seems they consider this optional.noisy children running screaming in the garden then entering the stairs and corridors.daytime wedding guests?first night arriving poorly cooked meal, poor service, over priced, even sneaky service charge a
Location, breakfast and the venue was stunning
Nothing other than the step on the bridge was not highlighted and twice i missed it. Left early so never got to report it. Also parking charge that was not mentioned or i missed it on the literature
Outstanding service from when we first checked in to when we checked out. A special mention to Elizabeth was very helpful, kind and really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a memorable one. Coming from a hospitality background - we would pilfer her in a heatbeat!
The tapas menu has variety and I highly recommend the gochujang cauliflower and chickpea spinach dish! Again - service in the restaurant was professional and efficient.
Nothing to dislike. I tried to book a 2nd night but they were full! Speaks for itself.
The hotel's location was within walking distance of places to visit. It was comfortable, the staff were helpful, friendly, and most importantly, very knowledgeable.
Nothing
excellent breakfast & location
check in was a bit of a joke there must have ben 6 people waiting for rooms from around 1pm (granted check in states 3pm) but in all my time of booking hotel rooms I have never known so many rooms not ready beforehand but bizarrely they all came available at 3pm in fact we didn't get our room until 3.10 , I had offered to pay for the early check in when we arrived but was told non available come back in 30 mins we did this for nearly 2 hours to no avail , not very accommodating at all , I'm sure you could have sorted a room if you had tried !
old buildings of york repurposed to a hotel
rooms were old style very spacious and comfy
plenty of tea and biscuits in the room and some history provided of the area
the beds and pillows may have been from original build and made sleeping a little tedious
