Hotel Oliver

Hotel is old & outdated but didn't mind this too much as it's in a prime location and was very clean.

Acomodações antigas. A senhora que fica de dia, apesar de educada, só falava não para tudo que pedíamos :-) até pra trocar 1 quarto por 2 ela disse não.

Le déjeuner pourrait être plus varié. Le premier jour, on est très satisfait, mais ensuite on aimerait un peu de changement. Aussi, plutôt de nous apporter des toasts froids, il pourrait y avoir du pain et un toaster mis à la disposition des clients.

La chambre triple est trop petite pour 3 personnes, on ne peut circuler qu'un à la fois !

Un mini-frigo dans la chambre serait fort apprécié. Il faut dire qu'on y était en pleine canicule.

The price was astronomical for what we got which was basically a bed and small wardrobe. I know hotels will put their prices up when the likes of Harry Styles is in town but what I was charged was ridiculous for what I got. I checked the price on a normal weekend and I paid over £200 more. Everything was very basic. There were 2 sockets in the room and one was for the fan which was required in 35 degree heat so my daughter and I couldn’t even charge our phones at the same time.

Pillow cases and bedsheets smelled sweaty, probably not washed on a hot enough cycle.

Couldn't have a shower, the shower head was all rusty.

Toilet seat loose & stained yellow.

Luckily I'm petite but anyone of a larger size wouldn't fit through the tiny gap that is the doorway to the bathroom.

I booked this hotel very last minute, on the same night I was staying. It was the only one available within my budget for the zone 1 & 2 I needed.

I've stayed in plenty of 2 star hotels and they are usually, as expected, old and basic. However, even the most basic hotel should be clean and maintained to a usable standard.

I definitley paid way over the odds for what the standard of.the room is, even as a last minute booking.

I wouldn't stay there again, even with a discount.

Think I had the World's smallest hotel room, which combined with a tropical heatwave and no AC, meant it was a sweatbox! 🥵
You had to turn sideways to get thru the (not a door) gap into the bathroom! Only there 2 days but the lift was out of action, luckily only on 3rd floor, still a trek in the heat! Had to pay a £5 deposit for TV remote, which only worked if you held it virtually touching the TV!
Not sure who measured the "10 minute" walk to Hyde Park but assume it was Mo Farrah, on a motorbike?

Todo en si. Instalaciones antiguas y viejas. Me apareció una araña en la cama. No tienen aire acondicionado ni ventilación y fueron unos días de una ola de calor insoportable. No están preparados para esto. Al no haber ventilación en la habitación olía muy mal. Baño muy viejo e incómodo.

Despite pictures showing air conditioning we arrive only to be shown to a room with a fan. The temperature inside the room was 32 degrees. Then I asked for the tv remote control for the tv. Turned the tv on and no signal for any channels as the aerial was taped together at the metal end. Then after that we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs as the lift was out of order
