Cool place to stay
Middle of everything
Breakfast room didn’t have windows
The windows in my “room with a view” were dirty
The location, nothing can beat it! The staff at the reception were just great!
It feels a bit outdated, the breakfast options were quite limited and not par with the expectations. I was surprised to see very limited options. You had to wait a lot for the lifts to arrive.
Centrally located and Staff was very helpful, one we checked in they brought our luggage up to the room and then down in the morning as there was no working elevator and a long walk through corridor to the taxi back door.
We were given a room in the 8th floor. We had to change an elevator to get to it and it was not working. Very inconvenient if one had luggage which we did. There was no mention of that and paid full price for the room. The floor was unbelievably dirty and stained (photos attached)looked like a cheap motel. The furniture in the sitting area (spacious as it was) also looked worse for wear. If we didn’t have a lot of luggage and an early flight I would have asked for my money back and walked right out. Also construction going on, so we had to enter through back door and is a hike to lug the bags. There was no help.
The location is really good - the building beautiful.
My room was large and clean.
The staff was great.
Location
How to get to the property found out later that there is a 24 hour bus right by the hotel that information would have been helpful
lift had a strange noise, it may need a service and could do with a good clean
Staff were kind. The rooms were nice and im good condition. Concierge was helpful. Room was nice.
There was only elevator and it is very small can get very crowded and long wait unless you want to take the stairs. Checkout was a nightmare since we had heavy suitcases and waited 15mins for an elevator we could for in and ended up taking 8 flights off stairs with our suitcases. I forgot that you don't get free breakfast day of checkout and I would have liked to be reminded of that fact instead of a surprise 40pound charge at checkout. Was only asked on the last day of the trip if I had an allergy and offered an allergy list. First day I asked and they spit a quick list. So 20p a piece and could only have a few things. We booked an extra day and did what we were told but were still called at checkout time asked why we hadn't left yet. We checked in that am as instructed and got new hotel key that still got deactivated.
L’emplacement
La chambre était très différente de la photo, des taches sur la moquettes et les fauteuils… aucun assistance à l’entrée sur Market street
It is just opposite to Waverley train station & very easy to get to the station from the hotel. This is the main reason we decided to stay here as we had an early train the next day. We also loved the bathroom with its huge walk in shower and excellent water pressure! This maybe the only part of the room that has been recently renovated
There were lots of stains on the carpet, some were very big patches and they should have had it professionally seen to. It just made the whole room seem dirty and very dated & tired. Our room was huge and seemed quite unwelcoming. There was only 1 lift working for guests & staff to use when we stayed there, so there was always quite a wait for the lift.
Convenient to transportation (Train & bus right across the street) and to local sites, restaurants and shops
Only 1 elevator in this big hotel
Bad choice, sorry not bad, but horrible
They give us a room without elevator to use , we climbed stairs after stairs, and told them to change the room due to physical mobility inability issues in knees
They did nothing about it, unfortunately,
Dear booking accountable , I don’t think I paid almost 3000 SAR for you to facilitate a very bad experience for ending my trip in Edinburgh,,
I got to have from you a compensation , knowing that during that week I paid over 14,000 SAR using your facilitation in booking
I loved almost everything! My room, the staff, the location and the history.
Elevator
Beautiful located. Very comfortable. Can’t fault anything.
Gym is adequate. Could be bigger. But it’s anold building so one understands that there are limitations.
