Not all rooms are equal!
Pros:

All rooms are not equal!

We recently booked a 9-night stay at this property for a very special milestone birthday.

The property is stunning, lush gardens, both kids and adults pool and onsite restaurant.

Unfortunately, our beachfront apartment was old and shabby, with worn furniture, broken blinds that let the light stream in, not particularly clean and, most concerningly, significant mould on the internal shutters.

We were given a refund for one night (and moved after 5 nights to a lovely apartment) which we appreciated, but it doesn’t compensate for the disappointment — you can’t redo a special milestone birthday or the holiday experience that came with it.

What made it even more disappointing was that our friends’ apartment had been beautifully renovated and was exactly what we had expected from a five-star resort.

In fairness to the Alamanda these units are individually owned so it’s at the owners discretion when/if updates are made.

So, a word of warning if you’re booking: all rooms are not equal. Some apartments have been renovated, while others clearly have not.

Fantastic location as it doesn't have the road in front. It's built right on the beach and it's quiet. The apartments are large and light

Perfect location for an onsite wedding at the chapel.
Pros:

Great location very short walk to beach and esplanade.

Cons:

An elevator on the premises. Very difficult to navigate all the stairs to the third floor. Didn't even use the top level of the apartment due to having to go up another 12+ plus from the bedroom after climbing the three levels of stairs. NOT SUITABLE FOR ANY PERSON WITH BAD KNEES OR MOBILITY ISSUES.

Great stay. Would recommend.
Pros:

The Alamanda is in a great location with good facilities. The pools are really good and the beachfront yoga is amazing. The staff are very friendly.

Cons:

We had a couple of small issues with our apartment (hot water stopped working in one shower, tv stopped working) really due to the age of the complex more than anything. Staff were quick to sort out.
