Taj Bentota Resort & Spa

The room facing the sea in the fourth floor was something. The food both dinner and the breakfast was amazing. My wife had some diet restrictions and the head chef Dalip Singh and Sarath took care of it and even customized some of the dishes. The pool and the proximity to the ocean made it very relaxing. Everybody we meet with Taj uniform or batch were hospitable and professional. Over all it was a great time there, Will recommend to my friends without hesitation.

We had amazing dinner with my family at taj bentota. Thanks all the staff Mr samantha , chef Kamal, chef dalip Singh , Asiri, sumith, dilshan, sisil, chef achala they made the evening more memorable. Thankyou all.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Taj Bentota with our 14-month-old baby. Traveling with a toddler can be challenging, but the staff made our stay very comfortable.
A special thanks to the Indian chef, Mr. Dalip Singh, who prepared delicious meals for us as well for our little one and was very attentive to our needs. His kindness and excellent service truly made a difference. Mr. Ravinder also gave us great service at that restaurant.
Overall, we experienced great hospitality and truly appreciate the care shown by the team.

The Taj Bentota was a beautiful resort! What added to the wonderful time we had there was the room with its beautiful views, the pool, the beach and the friendly and helpful staff. We would like to make particular mention of Asiri and his trainee staff Prasidi who took great care of us at every meal!

The Taj Bentota was a lovely hotel set on a really beautiful beach with crashing waves and ideal for surfing. The hotel was very well presented and the staff were very accommodating, particularly in the Palms restaurant, especially Asiri. He looked after my and my sister’s every need. He was so friendly and helpful and during a really bad storm he secured us a table despite the chaos going on around due to flooding. Asiri made sure we had everything we needed during our 9 night stay.
Our cleaner Jindindra (can’t spell his name) was amazing too. We had different towel animals every day and he cleaned our room extremely well.
The only small problem we had one day was a restaurant booking for the fish restaurant Shack that didn’t get booked via reception. We were immediately asked if we wanted the Chinese instead, which we did and which was a lovely meal. The next evening we went to the Shack and it was worth the wait. The food was so fresh and we were invited back the next evening and went again.
The food in the Palm was good with a wide variety and a lot of curries for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wine was good and although only a couple of choices we were satisfied.
There were plenty of sunbeds around the lovely pools and the spa was amazing. We had a couple of treatments at a very reasonable price and were treated like royalty.
Would highly recommend the Taj Bentota and hope to go there again very soon.

The indian food is top notch, chef dalip singh ji is a gem, knows how to create good relationships with guests. the ambience and service very good.

Excellent service by Asiri. He was throughout there to take care of us in the restaurant.

Absolutely loved our stay at Taj Bentota Resort & Spa! The property is stunning—beautifully located right by the beach with breathtaking views and a serene vibe.

A special shoutout to Head Chef Dilip and Chef Jasbir for the incredible Indian cuisine. Despite being in Sri Lanka, the authenticity, taste, and variety of Indian dishes were truly outstanding—easily one of the highlights of our stay.

What truly sets this place apart is the warm and genuine hospitality. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome—always attentive, courteous, and ready to help with a smile. Every interaction felt personal, and the team ensured our stay was seamless and memorable. From check-in to departure, the service was impeccable and truly reflective of the Taj legacy.

Just arrived back safely from an extended holiday at The Taj Bentota Hotel (19 February to 10 March 2026)
What a holiday! Great location. Alongside a beautiful beach and an ocean that was perfect for swimming and surfing. Hotel gardens, leading to the beach were well kept.And the rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable. The hotel has a good size pool and just about enough sunbeds and umbrellas.
The food at the buffet was of a really good quality and we also had lovely meals at the chinese and the shack. There were also a number of good restaurants a short distance from the hotel.
We had a wonderful time made even better by the real strength of the hotel,which is the staff.
Our stay was extended by 1 week because of cancelled flights due to the closure of airspace and although this was quite unsettling the brilliant staff might even this extra week enjoyable. Every member of staff provided an exceptional service, always with a genuine friendly smile. As mentioned all were outstanding, but a special mention to the people who we were often served by,waiters Dilan, who looked after us on our first evening in the restaurant, Astrid and Damith.
Milton , our room cleaner was so helpful and always made our room a special place to return to.
Kamangara kept us hydrated and fed whilst around the pool .
The pool attendants were friendly and helpful and made sure everybody was comfortable.
Last but not least chef Kamal who often would appear at dinner with a special dish for me to try. Wonderful!
We always had it cheery smile from Dinesha who along with the other cleaners made sure everything was spotless.
Management and reception staff were helpful and considerate when we had to make changes to our booking.
All in all , it was a wonderful holiday in a beautiful hotel. Already looking forward to our next stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed the four days we spent at the Taj Bentota.
The level of service at at this beautiful resort is second to none. Every member of staff was professional, well-trained and exuded genuine warmth. Special thanks has to go to Samantha at the Palms restaurant, who made our holiday extra special. He was ably assisted by his whole team, notably Asiri, Gayan, Sisil and Sam.
The food was always delicious and the wonderful chefs were equally friendly.
A final mention for Sachith, who kept our room spotlessly clean and well-stocked.

It's a beautiful hotel with stunning private beach access. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Best part of the place is that it's absolutely clean despite being a busy place. Chef Dalip Singh was super kind to take care of our breakfast and make us try interesting Sri Lankan food, made sure it's vegetarian, offered the kids food that suit them better. Super hardworking and humble chef. We were privileged to have him around.. Over all Taj Bentota is value for money in all aspects.
