We found the staff to be very friendly and eager to please. Manny in the breakfast restaurant was a credit to the hotel.
Pros:

Great location and felt very secure. Plenty of car parking space. Good breakfast and the restaurant was also good value.

Cons:

The rooms were comfortable enough but were badly in need of redecoration. The bathroom was well appointed but some of the fixtures and fittings were located in rather curious positions. More storage space would not have been unwelcome.

Cons:

Cleanliness was lacking; roaches were found.
The TV remote was missing but they also provided on upon request thereafter.
There was not enough tea/coffee provided on arrival; this was remedied after a call to housekeeping.
When the room was serviced, items such as shower caps and toilet paper we not replenished.

Good stay, could do better on administration
Pros:

The hotel breakfast was super! The facilities were great!

Cons:

The administration of booking hotel, spa treatments and breakfast was a terrible, although it's a hotel, all those entities operate in silos, which creates unnecessary admin. I had to email/ instant message the establishment numerous times before getting a response.

Great location.
Pros:

The staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is centrally located and easy to access.

Cons:

There weren't enough dishes for coffee etc. Also, the bedroom carpet was not clean, really grubby so I'm not sure when last it was cleaned.

Disappointing Stay and Lack of Communication
Cons:

I have stayed at Riverside Hotel many times in the past, which is why this recent visit was so disappointing.

Before our stay, I called in advance to request a room in a quiet area of the hotel and to get information about the Father's Day arrangements. Unfortunately, none of the staff members were able to provide clear or consistent information regarding the day's itinerary.

The confusion continued with the breakfast booking. At reception, we were given a breakfast price and instructed to make a reservation at 6:30 a.m. We followed these instructions, only to discover upon arrival at the dining area that our table had been placed outside and we were charged a special Father's Day rate that was significantly higher than the amount quoted at reception. This clearly highlighted a lack of communication between departments.

The biggest disappointment was the noise. Throughout the night, guests in the rooms next to us were extremely loud, banging doors and talking loudly in the corridors. The hotel staff appeared to have little control over the situation, making it difficult to sleep and enjoy what was meant to be a relaxing Father's Day getaway.

In addition, the lounge area has become very small since the former relaxation area is now frequently used for functions and venue hire. It often feels as though hotel guests are part of private events rather than enjoying a peaceful hotel environment.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend Riverside Hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. It now seems better suited to venue hire and events than to guests seeking comfort and tranquillity.

Pros:

Staff was welcoming.

Cons:

I was initially assigned a room adjacent to an area where extensive construction work was taking place, including heavy drilling and wall demolition. After I requested to be moved, the front office manager relocated me to a room on the floor above. Unfortunately, the construction noise echoed throughout that room as well, making it equally uncomfortable.
I raised the issue a second time and was eventually moved to a room on the opposite side of the hotel, away from the construction, where the disturbance was no longer an issue.
I found it highly unprofessional that guests were being accommodated in the section of the hotel directly affected by ongoing construction. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay, I would not recommend staying here until the renovation work has been completed.

Overall, it was good stay
Pros:

Breakfast was good, room was very clean. Otherwise, everything was good, and the entertainment was very good.

Cons:

Access to gym facility, I prefer access control to gym then going to Reception to collect the keys.
