Staff are great and the Italian restaurant was great too, apart from needing a major refurb
The rooms are very dated
Great views and situated well next to the golf course.
Hotel felt outdated, with furniture torn and stained carpets - it needed a refurb. The atrium in the middle of the hotel felt like a conference instead of a hotel. The clubhouse service was really slow.
Great location and facilities
Outstanding service beautiful hotel food was excellent
Spa and pool were really good
The room was gorgeous, large and spacious. Bed was clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was great and the bath / shower soap smelled lovely.
I personally felt like the service could have been better, in particular the waiting staff. We dined in La Cucina on Thursday 14th May and we had to ask for water to be brought to the table three times. I’m always of the opinion that service is defined by how quickly water is served to the table. In the morning, we had breakfast in the main dining area, we were asked how we would like our eggs only to then not be served the eggs with our breakfast and had to wait 10 minutes for them to come by which point we were finished our breakfast. We had also asked for toast to be brought to the table which was missed from the breakfast.
We made use of the spa area also and I found it to be outdated and dingy. The sauna wasn’t particularly warm and there was no option to heat it up. In the end, my locker in the changing room wouldn’t open and the staff on reception said, “it happens all the time” and I found it embarrassing having to come out to reception in a towel and swimwear.
Poor breakfast, cold scrambled eggs served to me two days in a row. Bacon was clearly low quality produce and cooked to a rubbery state. Our room was not vacuumed after the first night of stay and nor was our water refreshed. We had dinner in the golf club restaurant and staff had left an iron on next to our table - very dangerous with two young children ! Generally very poor and clearly no investment going into this hotel.
Hotel is beautiful
Check in time of 4pm is a disgrace.
That’s the only thing that lets the hotel down.
Also, we were not contacted when our room was ready, even though we were told we would be called.
Staff were very friendly. Big room. Very nice bathroom
Some rooms are very close to busy areas making them a bit noisy
Hotel is beautiful and there are several bars and restaurants to enjoy.
Pool and spa facilities were nice - although having to book in for a one-hour slot takes away some of the enjoyment and means you have to have your whole day planned out.
The pillows were awful, you put your head on them and they disappeared! Not great for a good nights sleep.
Breakfast was tasty but service was slow, and they arrived with only my husbands meal. Eggs were undercooked and cooked breakfast was lukewarm.
They offer a complimentary shuttle to St Andrews which is a nice but we were unable to use it because it was always fully booked - perhaps adding additional runs on the half hour would be good?
Lovely rooms clean spacious
Check in staff were fab as were doormen
Bar service slow
Was unable to use spa due to medical condition and asked to get a day pass to comeback but was declined which was poor
