The pool and all of the amenities are awesome
Didn't like to color of the water in the hot tub spa, it was pretty dark. So we didn't get in.
Perfect location, just a few minutes from the Old Port and the city downtown. Quite calm and nice, pet-friendly, respecful ambiance, and great service. The installation is old, from my point of view, it needs a refurbish, but in general it is clean and nice. The rooms are of a regular size, they are also clean and confortable. A very good breakfast (the usual ones in this type of hotels), excellent service and cleanliness.
The pools staff great and breakfast was good a lot to choose from
The location was nice, it was a quick 10 min drive from Portland downtown. The basics like towels and sheets were clean.
Even though the basics were clean, the room was dirty: windowsills, curtains, walls, behind and under the furniture, nonslip coating of the bathtub needed deep cleaning or replacing. The amenities were also only OK, the pool was quite sad with a few chairs and no shade provided. The breakfast room was stuffy, the breakfast was typical 3 star hotel breakfast, nothing exceptional.
There was bacon !!!! So many places only have sausage. Otherwise, a standard hotel complimentary meal to get the day started.
The snack items at the desk could have been stocked. When we got back we were looking forward to some ice cream & such that was listed at the desk but the "shop" only had 1 klondike bar.
The pillows are way too fluffy that go flat once you lay on them...not comfortable.
Breakfast area can get crowded due to small space.
Quiet and could bring dog. Asked for no carpeting and they accommodated me. Very nice people at desk.
Very old with peeling wallpaper. Filthy grout in the bathroom. Strange smell in the room.
Good location with easy access.
Everything we needed was available like ice and vending machines, comfortable and clean room, tv with free HBO, large safe for my 17” laptop, etc
Breakfast area could be bigger and better organized
pool and jacuzzis
breakfast is ok but very basic and it gets busy quickly, too AC cold the breakfast room…
It was great.
the bathrooms, especially the shower need to be updated.
The room was quiet, the beds were comfortable, the wi-fi was an excellent speed, and the breakfast was delicious every morning. The room was extremely clean, too. We always enjoy staying at Best Western hotels.
I personally had no problems with our stay. I guess if I had to choose one thing, it was that the TV always reset to the main menu every time we turned it on - even though we just wanted to watch what we had been watching previously.
The location was perfect, the pool was spacious and warm and just deep enough. The room was comfortable- we loved the big window, the bed's soft square pillows, and appreciated that there were enough towels for each of us, plus the front desk provided pool towels so we didn't have to bring our room towels out or sandy beach towels from home. The breakfast had something for everyone. Our room was very near the breakfast room, so I made a few trips to keep from bringing the entire family in and out of what could be a busy area. Everyone ate, and everyone was happy! An extra thank you to Aisha at the front desk who spoke with me by phone to let me know that while official early check-in was not available due to high capacity/sell-out the night before, we could try calling back closer to 1300 to see if a room would be ready by then. We were nearby, so we drove over around 1300. Aisha greeted me at the front desk, said a room was now available, and got us in so the kids could change and get right to the pool. Very helpful and so kind. Thank you for getting our stay off to a great start!
The toilet in our room had a broken fixture, so it either wouldn't flush or kept running. It was frustrating to have to take the heavy back ceramic plank/lid off the back of the toilet and hold the fixture in place while the tank refilled every single time. Especially frustrating since I was traveling with a young child who wanted to "help" and I was worried about dropping the toilet tank lid onto his foot since there was nowhere else to set it down while I jiggled the fixture.
Only one other complaint: the internet did not work from the time we got there until the time we checked out. The code was printed on our room key envelope, so we were sure we didn't enter something wrong, but it never worked. Since the hotel is located in a place with only one bar of cell phone reception, and we were in town to try and meet up with friends and relatives, it would've been nice to have internet access to research and coordinate our itineraries. But those are first world problems. It was overall a great stay, and we'll be back next month to visit again!
the pool and breakfast were great. the staff was super friendly and helpful.
the hot tub was closed and there were kids running around and being loud all hours of the night
I stayed here one night in May with my husband. Hotel is definitely dated but it was clean. Nice variety at breakfast. The hairdryer was outside the bathroom at the 2 nd sink. The cord is not long enough to reach into the bathroom. Unfortunately for my husband he needed to hear the hairdryer which was not far from the bed. Odd placement choice I feel. Hotel served its purpose for us.
Reason for the 3 stars was check out. I had a $50 off our next Best Western stay that I intended to use for this trip. This was a main reason of why I picked this hotel. When I did the booking online I put in all the information for the $50 off. When I checked into the hotel, I mentioned this to the gentleman behind the desk and he said that everything was fine. When I checked out the next day when I looked at the bill as I was walking out the door towards my car. I noticed the $50 was not taken off any longer. We went back to the front desk and there was a different gentleman there that morning. He said that I did not have the $50 off and that I needed proof to show him. I had told him that I put all the information on when I booked, but he did not want to hear that. He was really giving me a hard time. Luckily I just stood there and went through all the photos on my phone because I like to take screenshots of everything just in case. Sure enough I had pictures of everything that I was able to show him. He did apologize, but it left a very bad impression as he made me feel like I was trying to get away with something.
