The carpets were threadbare. Tv did not work. The decor was from the early 8o's. ensuite was dated and so was the furniture in the room.

Comfy bed large room
We were assured that parking was free. Since returning home we have received a parking fine. We were not informed that it was necessary to log in via the pay machine.
Otherwise the hotel and facilities were excellent.

Calme
Salon agréable
The location, reception, room, and staff were brilliant 👏 We really enjoyed our stay, and not to mention, the breakfast was exceptional. I highly recommend the great Barr and will stay again.
The ironing board and iron were not kept in our room.
Lovely outside bar area
Bedrooms are very old fashioned.
Doors are awkward to open, key needs to be half in half out.
Massive crack in the sink bowl of our bathroom.
Dead spider on the window sill.
When we entered the room it smelled stale
Bed was rock hard and made the loudest noise when you moved even a slight bit.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very good.
Dinner was awful. Fish and chips (should be simple enough at the price) was very small fish in a ton of batter which made it look bigger but was itself overcooked. The waiter offered chicken goujons as a bonus to counter the complaint but the initial fault remained. Breakfast was good.
I like the staff , very helpful staff . and the room was good size , very clean .
Good price, very clean and staff helpful. Bar food was cracking.
My room was tired and in need of TLC. Walls paper thin so was up all night with a domestic innthe room going off next door and pumping music from what I assume were the bar speakers strapped to the ceiling below me blaring out until midnight. Not the best experience
The kitchen staff were kind and the food was excellent
The kitchen staff were kind and the food was excellent, but unfortunately my stay was overshadowed by a very upsetting experience at reception on my first night.
After a booking issue had already been resolved through Booking.com, I was spoken to by Rita in a condescending and dismissive manner when I arrived. There was no greeting or basic courtesy, and the interaction left me so uncomfortable that I checked out early and arranged alternative accommodation.
I emailed the hotel privately to explain what happened and request a response, but they never replied. It’s a shame, because the other staff I encountered were lovely, but this experience seriously affected my stay and cost me time, self respect/dignity and money.
