The hotel is very attractive, clean, and offers spacious rooms. The restaurant serves excellent food, making dining at the hotel a pleasant experience. The location was also ideal for us, as it is conveniently close to the airport, which was one of our primary requirements.
The air conditioning was simply inadequate. Our room never became cool enough, and as a result we were unable to sleep properly. We requested a room change, but unfortunately it made very little difference.
We specifically chose this 4-star hotel near the airport because our primary goal was to get a good night's sleep and rest before a long international trip. Given the hotel's rating and location, we expected a comfortable stay, especially since airport hotels of this caliber are often a better value than more expensive downtown properties.
Unfortunately, this seems to be an increasingly common issue in many European hotels. The explanations are always similar: the hot summer weather, the fact that it's only a few months each year, or that the air conditioning cannot keep up with outside temperatures. Regardless of the reason, guests expect a hotel—particularly a 4-star property—to provide a room that is cool enough to sleep comfortably. A poor night's sleep is a major drawback and significantly affects the overall experience.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that the lobby and restaurant were pleasantly cool, while the guest rooms were uncomfortably warm. It gave the impression that the common areas were prioritized, while the guest rooms were not.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. For us, effective air conditioning is not a luxury—it's essential. No matter how attractive the hotel is or how convenient the location may be, if guests cannot sleep comfortably, it becomes a deciding factor in whether we would stay there again.
