Pool was cleverly photographed to look a lot bigger but it was tiny

There was nothing to dislike
Good breakfast, big bed, quiet room, comfortable
Didn’t use the gym or pool but apparently you have to pay
Beautiful setting and well maintained.
No elevator, but this wasn’t a big deal.
Breakfast was excellent. Help yourself to whatever you want. Excellent choice. Staff on hand if unable to find anything. Personally I hated the background music, which fortunately was low volume, but I suppose that was for atmosphere. I did not have an evening meal at the hotel. Room was ok with a bath and shower attached to the bath taps. This worked ok for me, but without aircon it was uncomfortably hot for sleeping due to afternoon/evening sun with a small fan to assist a single open window. (outside temperature was about 28C max I think) I used the swimming pool (£5) which was excellent for me, but serious swimmers may find its a little small. No diving. The £5 included the Gym which I did not use. All the staff I had dealings with were great. The car park was big enough and plenty of spare spaces but the drive feeding it had large potholes.

The property was very dated and run down . It certainly needs a refurbishment inside and out .

The ground around the hotel seemed nice. That's all the positives I can mention.
No privacy curtains (coils,nets) in the window. We were on clear view of the golf course and people walking by.
No filter on the kettle, so we couldn't use it due to the amount of limescale.
Beds and pillows were rock solid. Very uncomfortable.
Pool was cold, hot tub was weak. All lockers broke.

Breakfast was overpriced, weak coffee, raw croissants.
Rooms were clean but tired. Hard to find any staff anywhere. Everywhere seemed empty & soulless. Grounds unkempt. Disappointing visit. Booked for 2 nights but did not stay for the 2nd night.

Room comfy but hot due to weather mainly. Staff polite and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Social rooms and bar area comfy.
Shower tricky to use and would have been troublesome for more elderly person. No evening meal due to either staff not being available or only a few in the hotel at the time.
Atmosphere good. Staff all lovely.
Showers not great. Spa closed early on Saturday and Sunday. AC would be welcome. Road surface at entrance needs attention.
We stayed one night and didn’t use the bar, restaurant or spa facilities.
Receptionists were polite and helpful.
There were ample parking spaces.
The room was clean and the beds comfortable. There were tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board and trouser press and hairdryer. The bathroom was okay, however the shower controls were stiff and difficult to manage.
The outdoor temperature was very warm and although a fan was provided, the temperature in the room was oppressive so would definitely benefit from the installation of air conditioning in the bedroom.
There were ample electric points but no USB sockets for recharging electronic devices.
Overall our stay was a positive experience, but can only comment on the standard of our twin room as we didn’t use any other facilities.
