A wonderful family get together
Pros:

My parents had their 40th wedding anniversary party here for 50 guests in one of the suites and it was a perfect size and also had exclusive access to outside. Staff serving fast at the bar, private toilets just for us which was much appreciated. Daniel was our event host and despite only being in the job 2 weeks we couldn’t fault his hard work, attitude , friendliness and professionalism. A big thank you to Louise too who we booked the event with, she was incredibly helpful!

Great facilities needs a little TLC
Pros:

Facilities and the staff.

Cons:

A little tired in areas. No plug sockets by the bed and in the leisure centre, no dryer for swimming trunks or swim suits.

Nice place shame about the staff
Pros:

The room was fine and the hotel itself is very nice
However the staff were very poor the bar was not well attended by staff and the beer was off as the pipes were playing up and the beer was cloudy when paying seven pounds fifty for pint you do expect decent beer!
I used the resteraunt but did not get served ( and it was not busy) so resorted to ordering at the bar and eating in the bar

Cons:

Staff were not really customer freindly.

Fine for me for just one night to just eat and sleep,
Pros:

Bed was comfy, food was good

Cons:

Didn’t like the extras of paying to use pool gym facilities as I didn’t see this before booking.
The shower in the room, was old, just dumped water out so had to stand over the taps to get any water on you. The bath had bits in it so didn’t look like it had been cleaned and there was pubic hair on the bathroom floor so clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly.

Pros:

Location is great and it has a swimming pool for kids

Cons:

The bed mattresses and pillows are terrible and painful, take your own pillow if you don't want a sore head neck and ears!

Team, continue the smiles and way you made everyone feel welcome, individually you're all wonderful.
Pros:

The staff and team are incredibly friendly and could not do enough to make me feel comfortable and welcome.

Cons:

Gym equipment is old and needs updating
The carpets were in desperate need of a clean. There was a food stain on the stairs carpet on my arrival on Monday and was there until I left on Thursday (could have been cleaned/wiped easily)
The TVs are dated, no smart TV in the room in 2026 is a sin.

Poor value for the money
Pros:

The building is imposing and was ideally located for our purposes. Breakfast was standard buffet and cooked to order, but with problems, On the other hand the evening meal was nicely cooked, of good quality and nicely served and presented.

Cons:

We were located in a poky room as far from the Reception as you could get, and considering the cost of the stay at £146 I thought that this was another hotel that allocates poor rooms to Booking.com customers. This is not the first occasion that we have come across this attitude, and is usually excused by being 'fully booked' as the reason. However, in this case there only appeared to be some 8-10 guests that night. The bar drinks were highly priced.
At breakfast the chef did not know how to cook scrambled egg properly, mine was not eaten because it had not been cooked at a high enough temperature to fully amalgamate the yolk and white. By now I couldn't be bothered to complain.

Ok, but skip breakfast
Pros:

I stayed over here while on a business trip.
I was met at reception by a friendly enough young lady who told me that breakfast was cooked fresh to my requirements.
The room was what I'd expect for the money and had a lovely big bed. The bath was so small to relax in so I didn't bother.
The hotel is just in the countryside and is lovely and quiet.
Going down for breakfast quarter and hour after it had opened I was surprised to see that breakfast was a buffet style like offer chain hotels offer, unfortunately the cooked breakfast items were Luke warm and there fore not pleasant to eat.
There was a limited choice of continental breakfast items.
