I enjoyed location as attending a show and room comfortable but it was pricey.
Pros:

I think the evening meal was expensive for what we had to eat prior to visiting a show at the Barbican and the room was pricy but very comfortable.

Cons:

At the breakfast the milk ran out for cereal the. Water ran out for hot drinks

Pros:

Very nice hotel, very close to the city centre. The rooms were spacious and clean with really big and comfy beds. It was quiet. There was even a coffee machine in the room.

Cons:

The breakfast was good, however, I’d like more vegetables and cheese.

Helpful staff
Pros:

The lady staff at the front desk was so helpful with the sights and restaurants around York for first time visitors.

Cons:

Rooms and corridors are quite dated. The room door doesn't close properly. The price is really high for what you get.

Great location.
Pros:

Location was perfect for The Barbican. Good selection for breakfast. Room was big and clean. Shower temperature was perfect and easy to use.

Cons:

Front desk was often abandoned and had to wait several minutes for someone to appear. Coffee/Tea machine at breakfast wasn't very good and was slow. Lots of guests were complaining about this. Cost of room was expensive for a Monday.

If visiting York again we would book elsewhere in the hope of finding a better breakfast.
Cons:

At breakfast there was no choice of bread. Whilst on the first morning I managed to find the crust of a sliced brown bread (and it was the last piece of brown bread available at 8am), on the second morning only sliced white was to be had, and we had come down at 7.30am. Both breads were of a very cheap basic type which I do not buy myself. Also, on the second morning, some of the warm dishes were barely lukewarm.

A good value decent room
Pros:

Great location for Barbican.
Very dark and quiet room on top floor at the end of a corridor so had a long and peaceful sleep.
Nice welcome 😊
