A great value in a spectacular location.
Pros:

The Staff was professional yet very friendly, going out of their way to accommodate one's needs. To say that the location and Lake view was incredible is an understatement!! The Hotel's appointments and furnishings were charming and perfect for the setting. The included breakfast was more than delicious and plentiful. The shuttle service to town was a plus with the driver always a pleasure to be with.

Cons:

My only significant criticism - and this is no really substantive issue - is that the upholstery materials in some public rooms and the sofa in my room showing their age. While the Glass Dining Room was beautiful the waiter was slow and the food itself was not as outstanding as anticipated.

Absolutely fantastic. Must be the best location there.
Pros:

The location and the helpfulness of the staff was brilliant. On the 1st night we didn’t like our room so asked to move. The room felt small and had an upstairs we would never use. It was not a calm room to sleep in at all. The staff were very accommodating and we loved our next room. We had the best time.

Cons:

Room 403 wasn’t calm as too bold colours and the bed not situated so you could see out the window or view the television. Not really in keeping with the other wonderful rooms in the hotel.

The Hotel is stunning with beautiful views of the lake and islands.
Pros:

Stunning property, tastefully decorated. Immaculately clean. Breakfast superb, facilities, very good, staff very helpful and accommodating whenever possible. Owner always around to chat to which had the personal touch and everyone was extremely welcoming.

Cons:

The fact you could not walk into town as there was no pavement for a lot of the way which meant it was dangerous to walk as it was a busy road. Courtesy shuttle bus was laid on at certain times of the day which was helpful.

Unforgettable!
Pros:

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel Villa & Palazzo Aminta has a fantastic history, and each room reflects its unique character and charm, making the experience truly special and memorable.
Our room offered a breathtaking frontal view of the lake and the Borromean Islands — quite simply the best you could hope for. Waking up to such a stunning panorama every day was unforgettable.
The service was excellent throughout our stay. Every member of the staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, contributing greatly to the overall experience.
Finally, the breakfast and restaurant were outstanding, with high-quality food and a refined atmosphere that perfectly complemented the setting.
Overall, an exceptional stay that we would highly recommend.

Pros:

Very nice old style hotel,very well maintained with superb internal seating areas,cosy restaurants and good outside eating areas.very professional staff and excellent interaction with management staff,all staff dressed to a high standard of professionalism. The room we had was not in the main building but had the best views of Lake Maggiori,the bathroom area was large but the main room was on the small side,but adequate for our stay.

Wonderful location and wonderful hotel
Pros:

Fabulous hotel and fantastic staff. Nothing is too much trouble and from arrival until departure the service was first class. We had two beautiful lake view rooms and the view was just wonderful. The whole hotel is full of authentic furnishings, art work and ornaments to be admired and enjoyed.Breakfast was plentiful and Buck’s Fizz was a treat. The location of this hotel is just perfect, a view of all three Borromean Island’s makes the view extra special. Five minutes from Sressa and The Ferry with the hotel providing a regular shuttle service which runs like clockwork. I would really recommend doing the Maggiore express trip which takes you to Switzerland on the centovalli panoramic train and return on the express ferry from Locarno back to Stressa, long day but the scenery is breathtaking
