We stayed at the holiday inn express over the bank holiday weekend for two nights. It was our first time there and we were overall very pleased.
Particularly the bar area where we enjoyed meals and breakfast. It was quite hectic on the second morning compared to the first and you wonder if the way the breakfast is positioned all around the bar area works when it's super busy however the choice was plentiful and our son loved the waffles with Nutella!
All the staff working at the hotel are excellent. Very friendly and kind.
Lovely to use the pool and the family facilities are very good.
Would definitely stay again if in the area
Location is useful, but the prices are high if you only want a hotel, the feeling is very much that you are interlopers in a sports club. The bar is minimal, overpriced and minimal service, but the parking was good.
But now it seems as if they want to add parking charges!
Location was really good
Nothing
Location, family friendly, pool facilities, friendly staff and super comfy beds!
Unfortunately, the floor of the bath was covered in public hair, and more were on my husbands bath towel that he picked up after his shower. Horrible experience.
Also the fan in the room wasn't working and even though we shared the issue via the QR code Helpline the issue was unacknowledged and no replacement provided on a very hot night.
One minor criticism would also be that the offer of hot chocolate sachets or herbal teas for family rooms would be really appreciated.
Comfortable bed, spacious room, great facilities, helpful staff, lovely bathroom, excellent water pressure, clean lovely room
Location and cost
Food
Convenient location. Enjoyed the greenery surroundings. Kitchen staff were helpful and co operative. Sitting out on the balcony was a breath of fresh air!
Rudeness of staff was a key theme at this hotel. No one wanted to engage with you and when you tried to speak to anyone you get hushed like a child. Room was tired, broken sink, fan not working (during a heatwave and no air con or windows that open). Cigarette ends in the window sill. Steps and patio had loose and damaged slabs making entry dangerous. The restaurant service was beyond awful. Waited over 40 minutes for food (and it wasn’t busy) other customers complaining about food and being told they ordered the wrong thing. It was very awkward. The food was actually pretty good - pleasantly surprised but honestly I would rather have gone hungry than be sat next to a family who had complained and be spoken to like they were dirt on a shoe. Breakfast was ok but we were keen to leave so had a cuppa and quick bite to eat and got the hell out of there! Definitely wouldn’t visit again and was left absolutely exhausted having not slept.
I have stayed here a number of times but tonight I am very unhappy, what on earth is going on with the disgusting hot temperature in the bedroom? We have a Dyson air fan in here that sounds like a major runway, and is totally useless, we cannot use it and I'm dripping in sweat, please sort out I consider this a major health risk god help those sleeping in these rooms who have heart or health difficulties
Lovely from start to finish- Ella social mention checked me in and checked me out both times was a pleasure to speak to. Thank you
