I stayed at the hotel for one night on 18 July 2026. First impressions were positive, with what I assume was the manager greeting us on arrival. The room was comfortable, and we had a reasonable night's sleep. Unfortunately, breakfast was disappointing. With only one other table occupied, we had to ask whether we could sit anywhere and if it was table service. We were told it was, but after waiting around 20 minutes without anyone taking our order, we eventually had to go to the bar ourselves. The breakfast staff gave the impression they neither wanted to be there nor serve guests. I also accidentally left an item of clothing behind, which I realised about an hour after leaving Edinburgh. I contacted the hotel by phone and email but initially received no response. When I eventually got through, I was told they had my item, only to later receive an email saying they did not. Once confirmed, I was informed they would not post it back. Considering the price of the hotel, I expected the courtesy of returning a lost item. Instead, I had to arrange for a friend to collect it and was told to complete a lost property form next time. Unfortunately, there won't be a next time. To make matters worse, an unexplained charge of £9.45 has since appeared on my card. I have received no invoice or explanation and am still waiting for a response. Overall, poor customer service and communication overshadowed what started as a pleasant stay.
Was able to enjoy the quarterfinals of the World Cup here. Drinks and food were incredible and they have a nice mocktail selection. Staff was very kind and the restaurant and toilets clean. Highly recommend if you are looking for a lunch/dinner spot or a place to catch a game.

Good location and easy to check in and keep luggage.
Staff entered our room unexpectedly in the morning with a keycard then apologised. We were meant to check out later in the day, I don’t know why they came into the room suddenly. Very unacceptable especially if you are a woman!!!! Also the hotel is at the back of a pub which is fine, but don’t expect a hotel lobby. There is no lift, be warned if you have a lot of suitcases.

Très grande et belle chambre, salle-de-bain très belle, propre et moderne
1 seule chose : un membre du personnel très peu souriant (était chargé de l'accueil). Il a accepté nos bagages avant que nous puissions accéder à la chambre (=> OK), il les a fait monter sans qu'on lui demande ( => TB) mais par contre, aucun sourire, plutôt fuyant même. Il semblait de mauvaise humeur. Les autres membres du personnel étaient top.
As a local we had an amazing time at The Inn on the Mile. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive.
The drinks were fresh and extremely well priced, the whole establishment was spotless and well maintained. The location is fantastic, right in the centre of the city, making it easy to explore everything Edinburgh has to offer.
A huge thank you to the team for making our day so special. We would highly recommend making this a place to stop for a drink and food and we look forward to returning in the future!
