Pros:
On the Mile, nice bar downstairs for breakfast, great staff who carried luggage upstairs to 3rd floor, remodeled bathrooms with nice showers and tub, historical building.

Perfect location with our wedding party occupying 5 rooms. All had great facilities, smart rooms and bathrooms

This is my second time here and continue to love it. Yes, the location is perfect but it’s much more than that. The rooms are large and very well set out with amenities from a pod coffee maker to wine bucket and everything in between. The bed is very comfortable. The pub downstairs, part of the property, is comfortable and serves good food. But, most importantly, is the staff … from the manager down they are terrific. We ended up with thinking we had one more day there and, of course, our room was booked for a new occupant. They were kind and insistent on helping us find other accommodation. I was very upset I had made such a stupid error but they were totally there in every way. I can’t compliment them enough. One warning … there is no lift (3 floors of accommodation) so if you have issues with stairs …. However, without even asking, they happily took out bags up and took the. Back down to the lobby when we left.

I stayed at the hotel for one night on 18 July 2026. First impressions were positive, with what I assume was the manager greeting us on arrival. The room was comfortable, and we had a reasonable night's sleep. Unfortunately, breakfast was disappointing. With only one other table occupied, we had to ask whether we could sit anywhere and if it was table service. We were told it was, but after waiting around 20 minutes without anyone taking our order, we eventually had to go to the bar ourselves. The breakfast staff gave the impression they neither wanted to be there nor serve guests. I also accidentally left an item of clothing behind, which I realised about an hour after leaving Edinburgh. I contacted the hotel by phone and email but initially received no response. When I eventually got through, I was told they had my item, only to later receive an email saying they did not. Once confirmed, I was informed they would not post it back. Considering the price of the hotel, I expected the courtesy of returning a lost item. Instead, I had to arrange for a friend to collect it and was told to complete a lost property form next time. Unfortunately, there won't be a next time. To make matters worse, an unexplained charge of £9.45 has since appeared on my card. I have received no invoice or explanation and am still waiting for a response. Overall, poor customer service and communication overshadowed what started as a pleasant stay.

Was able to enjoy the quarterfinals of the World Cup here. Drinks and food were incredible and they have a nice mocktail selection. Staff was very kind and the restaurant and toilets clean. Highly recommend if you are looking for a lunch/dinner spot or a place to catch a game.

Room too noisy. Not value for money

Good location and easy to check in and keep luggage.

As a local we had an amazing time at The Inn on the Mile. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive.

The drinks were fresh and extremely well priced, the whole establishment was spotless and well maintained. The location is fantastic, right in the centre of the city, making it easy to explore everything Edinburgh has to offer.

A huge thank you to the team for making our day so special. We would highly recommend making this a place to stop for a drink and food and we look forward to returning in the future!
