Very uncomfortable pillows; as well as bed. King size bed was not asked for and not needed and two king single mattresses pushed together to make it with very uncomfortable ridge down the middle. The toiletries was unpleasant fragrance

Our room was up in the roof and we wanted some ventilation , the manager had to force the window open. Asked for brown sauce at breakfast and was informed they had none. We needed to request our room to be served despite leaving a label on the door. Asked for a coffee but had no cream
A Hidden Gem on the Royal Mile
The Inn on the Mile is truly one of Edinburgh's hidden gems. Nestled right in the heart of the Royal Mile, it offers the perfect combination of location, charm, and comfort.
What makes this property so unique is that it genuinely feels like an inn. Above the lively pub, a secure door accessible only by room key leads to just nine guest rooms spread across three stories. Stepping through that door felt like discovering a secret Edinburgh hideaway that most visitors walk right past. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed, and we were greeted with a basket of Scottish treats that made us feel immediately welcome.
Downstairs, the pub is a destination in its own right, featuring live music seven days a week, delicious Scottish fare, excellent bistro-style entrées and sandwiches, a great selection of draft beers, and an impressive whisky collection. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helped make our stay even more enjoyable.
If we had more time in Edinburgh, I would happily stay here for several more nights. You simply cannot beat the location, with so many of Edinburgh's most iconic attractions just steps from your door. If you're planning a trip to Edinburgh, I highly recommend The Inn on the Mile. It's a delightful, welcoming inn that feels like a secret worth sharing.
A fabulous overnight stay, I was attending the Edinburgh Tattoo and needed somewhere close to stay. Inn on the Mile was a perfect 10 min walk away. Check in was quick and friendly. My room was on the top floor, but it was a pleasure walking up the 3 floors, the decor, carpets and views from windows made it an easy walk. My room was superb, a very comfortable kingsize bed, comfy chair. The bathroom was beautiful and modern. And everywhere was spotlessly clean.
Breakfast is in the downstairs pub, again it was spotless and the staff were friendly, polite and helpful, I enjoyed the best cappuccino, a tasty Scottish breakfast and cranberry juice, rounded off my stay. I will definitely stay again.
