It was perfect for the purpose of our stay. Quiet, the staff were polite and professional.
Pros:

location to Macquarie shopping centre was convenient.
The view of the lake and the surrounding areas were relaxing and a pleasure to walk around.
The staff were always polite - May at reception and Jay Jay in Lachlan's were exceptional.

Cons:

The room could use an update/fine tune. The mini bar drawers could not be opened all the way because the whole unit was moved away from the wall. Shower drain could have been faster.

Pros:

Great location and proximity to Metro and Macquarie Centre. Rooms were made available to us early to get ready for a family wedding, which was greatly appreciated. Staff very friendly.

Cons:

On site restaurant was not open for breakfast on the weekend which was disappointing.

Pros:

Facilities around viewing are good very good morning after good sleep.

Cons:

All the time staff they have no smile on their faces when you come on the reception, I am not not saying they rude but not smiling welcome.
Without permission and asking room service come to the room for cleaning in my absence, i leave my belongings when i was not my room.
Parking for the car not close to the property even late night there is no easy access to the room when you park your car your assigned place.

I stayed here while attending a conference at Macquarie University. It was an easy walk from the hotel to the conference venue. My room was comfortable, well maintained and well equipped. Food at the restaurant was good. Staff members I encountered were helpful.

I have stayed at Lakeside Hotel before & will again if necessary. The restaurant was very nice.
Pros:

The location was excellent & close to the hospital where my husband was a patient.

Cons:

Free to air TV was terrible. Most of the channels I prefer were not available.

For those who travel far away and need a good rest at night , this is the place
