Village Hotel Bracknell

It was an incredibly busy weekend, with the world cup, but the service in the restaurant was pretty poor. the staff were clearly run off their feet. we were shown to a table which wasnt yet cleared from previous people. We kinda expected the waitress to come back and clean it, but they didnt. and when we had to ask for this to be done she kinda seemed surprised. tables around us would become available but never cleared. we had a very long wait for our food, then had to ask for cutlery and sauces, which never came and we had to source ourselves. When ordering we also wernt told the kids ice cream was self serve, so we almost lost out on this, as when we found out it was already being tidied away. I think it was simply a case of being very short staffed on a very busy evening.

Poor service from start to finish. Charge for car parking and when challenged the response is it’s a third party company.
Breakfast finishes at 9am, never heard of any hotel that breakfasts finish’s so early?
One night the restaurant ran out of main items on the menu, eg Pizza, chicken wings & pastas.
Ran out of certain beers also.
Rooms only cleaned if you put a card on the door handle, we found this on the last day when we were departing.
Sent an email to the manager and it was simply ignored.
DONT STAY HERE!

BE WARNED - PARKING SCAM - Ridiculous check in system and staff absolutely useless. I booked through Booking.com which I am now advised does not include free parking overnight. I entered all my details on their check-in system including my car reg. no. - The member of staff on reception never mentioned parking! Now I have received a £60 fine from the company they use to manage their car park. I have complained but they hide behind "car park managed by third party". My only course of action is to appeal to this third party who handle their own appeals, so no chance there then. What a very bad joke this is. Shockingly poor on behalf of Village hotels there systems and staff training should help guests not trip them up.

They made travelling with a baby difficult.
Originally giving a room with upstairs with no lift access (unable to access with a buggy).

Unable to cater for a babies food. Asked to heat an Ella’s kitchen pouch in the microwave for 1 minute. It took 30 mins and asking 3 staff members to bring it back out before feeding my baby who by then was hungry and tired. But the cherry on top was when the staff member brought it out saying careful it’s hot when it wasn’t hot , not even warm.

Charging extra for parking and charging extra to use the swimming pool

The hotel was booked as part of my daughters present for her 11th birthday, I had booked the £15 celebration package for the room so when we got there my daughter would be excited about the banners and balloons. We paid the £15 at check in, well the receptionist said, you have the celebration package, that'll be £15 please before we did anything. So we got our room key and went up to the room, phone in hand to video the moment, we opened the door, darkness, lights on, expecting the shimmer and shine of the balloons and banners...NOTHING! The surprise completely ruined, went back down and told staff, who said, if you go out anywhere let me know, and ill do the room, so we went swimming, when we got back to the room, it was so underwhelming, a few balloons on the bed, a card, and a cookie! We went back down for dinner, when we got back the room there more banners and balloons, champagne bottle balloons display the was probably taken from another party, as indont think you would have champagne for an 11 year old girl.
