Exceptional in every way!
Pros:

The Pali House was absolutely perfect! The hotel is charming, coffee and breakfast in the beautiful courtyard was divine. We were 30 family members staying for a wedding in Santa Barbara, the hotel staff were professional, friendly and exceptionally accommodating. The rooms are beautiful, our balcony overlooked the swimming pool, which we enjoyed with lunch and cocktails!! We will be back for another get away! Thank you for your incredible hospitality!

Wonderful boutique experience in the heart of Santa Barbara
Pros:

Intimate and comfortable property. It was a lovely stay for my husband and I. We loved the location close to the mission and hills. Our room was spacious with a beautiful balcony.

Cons:

Nothing to add.

Magnífico
Pros:

Pretty hotel, but not worth the value.
Pros:

Location is several blocks to State St. shops. Very cute hotel, very clean, well decorated rooms, slightly dark hallway, room but skylight in bathroom. No water in room (unless you pay for it) a small coffee machine, but no cream which was odd. In the reception, Swedish fish, lemonade and cookies, but shut down in the afternoon. The breakfast omelette was delicious.

Quiet hotel, with the exception that we were awakened both mornings at 6am to a crying baby and toddlers. The hotel service was non existent. When checking in after a very long drive on a Monday night, the desk girl who had the welcoming personality of a wet mop did not greet us, nor a offer a welcome, nor “how was your travels? Just asked for my credit card. Very surprising and disappointing as this was our first impression of the hotel we paid over $600 ++ a night. A very expensive room rate for the value received.

Friendly, but severely lacking in amenities for such an expensive hotel.
Pros:

The hotel is peaceful, and close enough to State Street and the Funk Zone as to be walkable. The courtyard is lovely, and the staff was all extremely friendly. The rooms, however are a little old and in need of some adjustments. The bathroom comes with a slider door to the bathtub and sink area, but it wouldn't quite stay on track, and it made a loud noise when opened, waking one of us up whenever the other got up in the night to use it. The toilet and shower also had a sort of slider, but it wouldn't shut entirely because the bottom would scrape the floor.

There are Nespresso machines in the room, but there is no creamer, and there is no cream downstairs. I prefer milk in my coffee, so I needed to go to the bar and buy one there. There is no coffee station in the lobby in the morning. There is ice water during the day, but it goes away in the early evening, so if you return wanting some water before bed after a night out, your option is the tap, or the pricey bottled water they have in the fridge. With a per-night cost of $1,100 to $1,200 a night, it seems reasonable to expect coffee and water.

The staff could not have been nicer, and the food at the bar was good. I just wish the management would offer a little more in the way of small comforts to the guests.

Beautiful!
Pros:

This is a beautiful, stylish property. I’ve stayed at a few other Palihouse locations and this is the prettiest. I stayed on a Wednesday and Thursday night and it was pretty quiet. I’m sure it’s also nice when it’s busy since there are some lovely indoor and outdoor public spaces. Overall, great vibe, well appointed and worth a return visit.

Coffee and water. The simple things to get right!
Pros:

This is a beautiful property but I would NEVER go back again. This is a very expensive hotel at $1100/night and our friends and us did not have a great experience. At this price, you would think that you would have complimentary waters in your room daily. As well, complimentary coffee down in the lobby. Coffee is not provided until about 8 or 8:30am at a price. And the hotel does not keep any half & half on the premises. They are very generous giving out free gummy bears and licorice but find it difficult to provide free coffee with creamer at a reasonable hour of the morning. Almost every other hotel in the area provides both water and coffee.

Eloped at Santa Barbara
Pros:

My husband and I flew out to Santa Barbara and stayed here during our elopement! Chandra, Noel, Erick, Mireia, Carl and Mel made our entire experience wonderful! The service was truly 10/10 and we could not have had a better stay! We have already recommended this place to both friends and family as well as strangers we’ve met along the way on our honeymoon. We both agree we will 100% be back after having the perfect experience!!

Beautiful hotel but improvements could be made for the price.
Pros:

Beautiful properly that has been very thoughtfully decorated.

Cons:

I thought the room smelled very musty and it really triggered my allergies. I feel like the rooms could use a more thorough clean.

A motel experience for $1000/night.
Pros:

Room layout and location.

Cons:

Lacking amenities including: parking, bell hop, housekeeping, room service, dining, or other. There is a tiny pool and happy hour drink service. Limited breakfast (better off walking to State St.). They are charging $1000 a night for a 3-star motel experience. Cleanliness was a problem - there was a band aid on the carpet when we first walked in and our bathroom floor had not been cleaned and had a LOT of long black hair all over it. I had to clean the bathroom myself because there was no housekeeping after 2 or 3 p.m. The bathroom sink was slow to drain and smelled of sewage - reported but never fixed. The parking garage is too small to accommodate the number of rooms so we had to find street parking multiple times. The aesthetic of the place is cute but it really is like a 3-star motel (and I say motel because all entrances are outside and we had to carry our bags up a flight of stairs). I can't figure out how they are getting away with charging as much as the Ritz Carlton for what amounts to a very nice motel.

Pros:

Stayed two nights at Palihouse and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The location is excellent, parking was a breeze, and the hotel itself has a real charm to it. The staff were attentive and friendly, the room was comfortable, and it was impressively quiet throughout our stay. Truly nothing to complain about - would highly recommend.
