Super hotel.
Stayed for six nights at the hotel. The staff are very nice and the accommodations were quite comfortable. While we enjoyed everyone, Bartender Blaise was quick to offer to make us a special cocktail. He was there at breakfast making coffee for diners and still there late nights after dinner. He’s a hard worker and eager to please. Go check out the bar at Threadneedles!
First thing to note is that the staff were all wonderful. The avg rating does not reflect that and their attention should not be understated. High praise. That being said, I cannot recommend Threadneedles as it is soTIRED and in need of attention. Carpet is thrashed, elevator looks like it belongs in a derelict apartment building. Public use bathrooms have out of order signs. Rooms dimly lit and broken heated towel racks and weird sounds from the toilets. Lukewarm showers. Our party had multiple rooms and all were substandard. Honestly place needs a complete refurbish. We elected to move hotels. Don’t stay here.
Location and elegance, comfortable room and friendly service
Nothing
Paul the bartender was great! Great service and great drinks! Ronnie
My stay here was ok. I expected the hotel to be a little bit more updated than it was. Overall everything was fine and nothing too crazy went wrong other than my room air conditioning not working. Wasn’t a bad stay was just mediocre.
Pros:
-great location. Cute surrounding area walkable to many places.
-mostly helpful and friendly staff.
-Beautiful rotunda lobby.
-no gym in hotel. But provide access the Virgin Fit gym one block away that was very nice and has a pool for laps.
-historic building formerly a bank which is cool.
-Elemis products in bathroom. Nice smelling.
-tea, coffee and biscuits in room. Mini fridge in the room which was nice to keep drinks and snacks cold.
-nightly light turn down service. Place chocolates, Elemis lip balm and Elemis sheet spray on your pillow. Nice little simple touch. Along with fresh bottled water and ice.
-nice welcome gift for my Marriott status (bottle of wine and a printed chocolate). This was a nice touch with a welcome note. I’d have preferred room upgrade or AC ;) but this was a nice touch nonetheless.
Cons:
-highest Marriott status but was not upgraded. Colleagues traveling with me with no status were upgraded to suites and I was surprised I was not given my higher Marriott loyalty. Marriott has been super kind to me, not a major complaint just a bit surprised esp with my AC not working.
-air conditioning did not work and it was extra hot in London for the marathon so I did not sleep well. Provided a fan for my room, but AC never got properly fixed.
-beds are a bit hard and are two twin mattresses pushed together.
-rooms are a bit dated which I typically expect in the Uk. Hot water takes a moment to heat up, air conditioning didn't work properly, etc
-pre arranged airport transit with hotel for departing flight and the car was 15 minutes late which was annoying as they communicated the car would be early and waiting otherwise I would have made different more reliable transportation. I was pretty annoyed by this. Hotel was apologetic but this shouldn’t have been an issue or I’d have booked car service through my company travel agent.
Overall was an ok stay. I do think there’s better options in London I might consider exploring for my next visit.
It is a beautiful and charming hotel very conveniently located. It's a refreshing relaxing atmosphere. Paul at the bar is especially friendly and accommodating for the services provided. Highly suggest Paul make you a cocktail of your choosing.
I recently stayed at the Threadneedles Hotel and it was a fantastic stay. My room was very roomy and had all the comforts of home. The highlight of my stay was enjoying a handcrafted cocktail from Paul I look forward to my next trip!
Great location and very comfortable room in quiet location.
The Continental breakfast was poor, limited choice and room soulless. Stay offered as including breakfast and newspaper. Cheekily the breakfast was actually only a continental breakfast and not what one would expect from a five star hotel.
Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
