Hu Hotel is a solid 3-star hotel. Clean room, great bed, good towels, many UBS outlets for your electronics. Ample closet space, Iron, etc. Parking facility is across the street ($22per day). Walking proximity to Beale Street. Good bars and restaurants nearby. Walgreens was one block away where you can get water and drinks. Staff were generally very capable and resolved any issues right away.
Shower pressure was low. Only one attendant at the check-in counter during busy hours. The check-in counter was so small that only allowed one staff to check us in. The staff was very calm and efficient but it would be better if at least two people were at the counter.
Another negative thing was the carpet stains. The room was clean but the dirty carpet gave the room rundown vibe.
Didn’t have it
It cost
It has its own vibe. It has a lot of amenities in a perfect location with a really friendly staff.
I wish you didn’t have to park in a parking garage across the street and that there was actual parking there that would’ve been a little bit more convenient, but not really that big of a problem
The breakfast was decent
The hotel was old.Need be remodeled and updated
Friendly and helpful staff. Good location. Good size room.
Bathroom was clean but didn’t like the over bath shower. Had to ask for clean towels twice as housekeeping hadn’t left any.
Nice & Comfy

Check in was very easy and very quick. The staff was friendly and helpful, particularly when trying to get into the nearby parking structure (the exterior doors of which lock in the evening, so a code is needed to get into it). My room was spacious, including separate TVs in the bedroom and living area. My room had the styling of a hip hotel, which was nice. It is located in downtown Memphis, centrally located to many sites, including within walking distance to Beale Street and many other attractions. Other attractions are a short drive.
You can choose to pay for parking via the hotel, which is located in a parking structure across the street from the hotel (not connected), but you might be able to find slightly cheaper parking via a parking app, as I did.
My room had nice, big windows, letting a lot of light in during the day. Shower pressure was adequate. The elevator speed and cleanliness were as expected. My bed was very comfortable.
This is a hotel in a fairly old building, so the rooms are somewhat run down. The bathroom in my room wasn't all that comfortable, as it had old, cracked tile floor (particularly in the shower, which was a one-person, narrow style shower) and a hole in the ceiling. The couch in the living room area was very worn and uncomfortable.
What you're paying for here is the location. It's a great location! But the cost of a night's stay here is not equivalent to the quality of the room you'll be receiving.
Lastly, the price I was billed was more than the price I was quoted on booking.com; my final bill included a "CC recovery charge" that was not disclosed at the time of booking nor at the time of check-in. I asked them to remove it, but they declined.
Ebony is an outstanding representative for your hotel. She is polite, friendly and just amazing. Diamond helped make our stay the very best. All your staff is top -shelf going the extra mile every second of the day.
We loved everything.
