Excellent over night stay prior to cruise
Pros:

Close to venues we wanted to see. The breakfast was exceptional. Rooms were clean and staff were very friendly

Clean property, but so many issues
Pros:

Our family is currently staying on property for three nights, and the experience has been mediocre. I’ll start with the positive feedback.

The rooms, lobby, and breakfast area are clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep. We paid for the breakfast with our reservation; this is the only HIE we’ve stayed at where breakfast isn’t included in the total cost.

That leads me to the negative feedback.

Breakfast has been hit or miss each morning. Some of the dishes have sat empty waiting on refills that were slow or never came.

Our housekeeping did not come at all during our stay. It’s supposed to be every other day; we did not receive any cleaning. When I let the front desk know, she offered clean towels but no apology. Another room in our party also went without housekeeping services. The third family in our party returned to find housekeeping had not closed the room door completely following their cleaning visit. The front desk staff was made aware of these issues; again, there was no apology offered.

The ice machines do not work, and guests have to stop at the front desk for a bag of ice. The staff was checking in new guests, getting ice bags, and checking out guests who purchased snacks, drinks, etc from the pantry. This inefficiency made for very long wait times.

Speaking of inefficient, I’m writing this review from a sister property next door, because the laundry facilities at the HIE are out of order. All guest laundry is done at Fairfield, as they’re sharing access to HIE guests who need it. We are taking three hours out of our evening to do laundry next door, and we cannot leave because hotel staff has to escort you to and from the locked room.

For the price of this hotel, the lack of these standard amenities is absurd. I would highly recommend reviewing other options before booking your stay at this location.

Cons:

I know that it’s Seattle but I’ve already paid a pretty penny for a room and have to pay for parking as well per night is a little ridiculous.
