Air conditioner was very loud! And very much needed! Property is a little older so a little wear and tear here and there but the location and accessibility outweigh any issues!!!!

There was nothing not to like it was great
This location is excellent. Two blocks from the famous Duke surfing statue on Waikiki beach, it is close to bus and trolly lines, the beach, shopping (including a very handy Target store with groceries), ABC stores, food trucks, and lots of restaurants. It was easy to get to historic sites and places of interest from this location, easy to get an Uber, and the lobby had a coffee cart, Korean bbq, and spam musubi place all right on the doorstep which was very convient. The staff were very friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. The view from the roof pool was great, and it was nice that there were glass surrounds to keep the wind at bay. The hot tub was a good size and the roof lounge area and lounge on the floor just below were nice.
The property is a mix of hotel and condo units, not just a hotel. The elevator does not go all the way up to the pool, so I’m not sure what a wheelchair user would do. Our room was clean, but some areas of the kitchen and bath tub could have used more attention. The decor in our suite was dated and run down. The curtains did not close all the way in the living room which doubled as the main bedroom. Some of the curtain rails were sagging against the walls. There was one window unit to cool the entire suite, but it was not very effective, and it was counter productive to run it and open the doors to the lanai at all at the same time. They did give us several large fans, which was helpful, but not there same as a more efficient cooling unit. The cool air did not reach the separate bedroom. We cooked dinner for ourselves several nights in the kitchen, which was quite adequate, but while washing dishes with the provided dish soap and dish pad (no sponge), there was no plug for the sink, so I felt like I had to waste a lot of water to wash all the dishes. The walls looked like they could used some paint and the bathroom looked like they had updated the bathtub and surrounding tile but done nothing to update the rest of the bathroom (floor, vanity, toilet) so it felt like a mish-mash). The pool looked like it needed a refresh for the cushions on all the chairs, the tile on the edges of the pool and the edges of the hot tub, and it felt like the water needed to be filtered more often as there was a lot of beach sand in the hot tub especially. There was a notice to shower before entering, but no shower. Overall it felt like a lot of things had been nice, but have been neglected or not maintained well.

It just that the hotel is old, so old AC (really loud) and some furniture is old and not clean. Loud area.

A bit tired and dated within the rooms. Quite loud even on floor 29 but it's Waikiki so to be expected.

Absolutely amazing! The check in lady absolutely made my whole day! After an absolutely horrible event at the airport she made my check in at 2am tear worthy perfecting!

The location of the hotel was amazing couldn't have asked for anything better. It was 2 blocks aways from the beach, and actually perfect, you are away from all the late tourist noise but close enough to enjoy the outstanding beach view every morning and evening. The front desk staff were the best customer service I have experienced in a very long time. Always smiling, always helpful and treated every guest like they were all equally important. Overall The Pacific Monarch is seriously the BEST DEAL on the entire island. A full apartment, gorgeous wrap around balcony w incredible beach views/mountain from bedroom, fully equipped kitchen. We only had one issue w the TV reception in the bedroom (the cable box did not work, but didn't come to the island to watch tv) and it would be awesome to have a a/c in the bedroom. I recommend this hotel very highly and will return every year when I visit my family. Mahalo
