I didn't like the construction going on.

The photos posted are only for the one renovated building. Our room had not been updated since the early 90s. The portable a/c units were only in the bedrooms so the common areas were very hot. The chairs and sofa were covered in stains and the beds were very uncomfortable. Most of the furniture was damaged. We were in a building that required you to carry luggage up the stairs which scale the hillside. Everything about the hotel was inconvenient. You have to get a key card to go to the pool, so once again climbing the stairs. The construction is a massive project and obscures to view of the water.

I wasn’t told that there were going to be weddings ALL weekend prior to my stay so they put us on the fourth floor, which is located right above the roof on the rooftop where I couldn’t sit out on my balcony because there’s wedding guests, looking down, for three night until 10 pm music stopped and dancing/banging then they had to load out the wedding and the scraping of the chairs on the rooftop over our bed room was very uncomfortable when trying to sleep . I was staying in an ocean view room shower head wasn’t great. Right next to where the construction zone started and on Monday luckily the last day they had work going on which is fine but it was tough stay .

Thin walls, construction, no parking had to use valet (long wait time on car retrieval) person at check in was impersonal. No chair in room. Floor needed to be swept.

The remodeling, the pool, the parking (our daughter came to pick us up and was there for less than 20 minutes. That cost us $16.00. Ridiculous.

What I did not like about this property is anytime we wanted to go anywhere we had to go up or down some serious staircases. It does state that in the listing as staircase only from the parking lot, but does not state staircase only to everywhere, example lobby, down to the main road, beach. Possibly when the renovation is done they’ll be another way to get around the property. What I didn’t understand is the pool towels were in the lobby and not by the pool. The pool was directly below our little Casita, but if we need a towel, we had to go down 150 steps, around construction & back up. I’m sure they would’ve brought us a towel, but it just seemed kind of strange. Also near the Casitas, there was no ice machine and the lack of a refrigerator forced us to use an ice chest. Again, just minor things but things that were kind of annoying. After a two day stay and going up and down those stairs constantly I can say I did get a good workout, but it also was exhausting.

Our biggest frustrations were the confusing and inconvenient valet process, difficult room access with multiple flights of stairs and no elevator, and the lack of transparency about the property not having central air conditioning. Combined with poor housekeeping (empty toiletries and insufficient toilet paper) and the lengthy wait for our vehicle at checkout, the overall experience did not justify the premium price.

We stayed here about 5 years ago and construction was going on then. So I was not aware that it would still be going on.

The construction was really unfortunate. We paid for an oceanfront room and although we did get it we were literally right next to the construction so it was incredibly loud and our view was partially obstructed. They also informed us there would be a wedding on Friday night. We didn’t realize that meant the loudest music possible. We had a 3:45am wake up time to get to the airport so trying to sleep over the obnoxiously loud music was frustrating. Additionally, they required valet and assured us that there was 24/7 access. When we used the required text message system for our vehicle at 4am to get to the airport no one went to get our car, no one was at the stand, no staff was anywhere to be found for valet or hotel. We had to call several numbers who told us they weren’t open until 4:30. We were at risk of missing our flight. Finally someone came out of the library (I assume from sleeping) and retrieved our vehicle. It just wasn’t a very pleasant experience for the cost.
