The room was clean, the breakfast was good, the staff was friendly and everything went smoothly.

Very disappointing experience due to staff conduct

I stayed at Hyatt House San Diego (May 4–7, 2026) while my home was being fumigated. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by a very poor interaction with hotel staff.

At 11:30 PM on our last night, we received a call to our room from hotel operations instructing my wife to immediately move her car. This woke our entire family, including young children with school the next day. This was not an emergency and could have been handled in the morning or via a less disruptive method.

When I went to the front desk to address this, the staff member (Alan Sanford) was confrontational, called me a “liar,” and implied I was trying to avoid parking charges. I had no issue paying and asked to be charged immediately—this was simply an oversight during a stressful family situation.

The late-night disturbance and unprofessional behavior were completely unacceptable. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had, despite traveling frequently for work.

I hope Hyatt takes this seriously and improves how situations like this are handled.

The customer service was amazing and went above and beyond. They made my girlfriend and I very welcomed. We were celebrating our one year anniversary together and again, the staff had amazing details for us. I was not expecting such great hospitality. I thank everyone for our stay. The front office member who checked us in, the security guard and the ladies who were working the breakfast stations. Thank you! Also, the hotel is very clean, all the amenities were present and the noise levels were non-existing.

Always great experience. I always have all I need. Beyond what I need.we stay with family here frequently and we ate all comfortable, the location is off the beaten path but close to freeways to enjoy all of San Diego. Will be back again.

Great location, highly recommend eating at Gravity Heights Brewery, walking distance from hotel. Spacious, clean, comfortable room. Nice firepit area also. Great for long or short term stay. Breakfast was great quality and has lots of choices.

Always enjoy staying at this Hyatt house. The staff is always friendly and conveniently located to everything such as restaurants & shopping. Their breakfast choices are great. Very clean throughout the facility. The rooms have full kitchen which is convenient.

I had a fantastic stay at Hyatt House San Diego/Sorrento Mesa and would definitely recommend it. What stood out to me the most was the breakfast, there were so many options, far beyond what I’ve experienced at other hotels in the U.S. I was pleasantly surprised to see items like white steamed rice, miso soup, and even lentil soup. It felt thoughtful and inclusive, and it really elevated the start of each day.

The room itself was just as impressive. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and get a good night’s sleep. Overall, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, truly like a home away from home. I’d happily stay here again on my next visit.

Staff very friendly, bed super comfortable

First of all Allen in the front desk was amazing he welcomed us like a family member. We slept so comfortably. I have to say this was the best breakfast ever. Lentil soup, white rice, ginger, Miso soup and fresh. Amazing

Loved having a kitchen living room with separate bedroom. Just ask to NOT have room 485 or any rooms along that side of the building as the highway is so loud at night you can’t sleep. The inside courtyard or main side of hotel would have been great. The pool and outdoor fireplace was nice and they have an awesome breakfast. The restaurant brewery down the street has an awesome outdoor patio and food also.

The staff was so helpful and friendly. They really went out of their way to make sure you had a great experience. The rooms were huge and very clean. Very relaxed atmosphere in the lounge and a lot of outdoor seating.
