Not a good choice for a short stay.
Pros:

We booked one night. We live in the Outerbanks of NC and I had business in Norfolk and we needed to pick up our granddaughter at the airport in Richmond the next day. We thought staying at Marriott's Manor Club in Williamsburg would be a nice respite. The day of our trip we received a sternly worded Email that under no circumstances could we check in before 4pm and absolutely had to be out of our room by 10am. They explicitly stated if you're a Marriottt Bonvoy member, they will not honor any request for early or late check-in. For a one-night stay, this pretty much negates any use of the resort facilities. We arrived a little after 4pm. It's summer, and the grounds are beautiful. Upon check-in we were charged $20 for parking. This isn't garage or covered parking. It isn't valet parking. It's just a parking lot in front of a low rise building. It's just a way to gouge their customers for an extra $20 bucks. We drove to our building/room, it was about 3/4 of a mile from the building where we checked in. Unbeknownst to us, because the front desk didn't inform us, they assigned us a handicapped room. The bathroom, the closets, the kitchen were all built for a person in a wheelchair. We were not asked whether this was O.K. or even informed. There were no towel bars in the bathroom, the shower permitted a wheel chair to roll in and had a shower curtain about 10 inches too short which allowed water to roll out of the shower and flood the floor, which had no drain. The shower itself consisted of a weak handheld shower head. All of the robe hooks in the bathroom were at about 42 inches, so anything hung on them, like a robe or towel, drug on the tile floor. The same with the closet in the bedroom. The lower part of my wife's dress was bunched up on the floor. The room was reasonably clean, not spotless. The bed was comfortable. We searched for a restaurant on-line for dinner. The only restaurant on the property is at the country club. We could not determine based on searching the internet whether we were permitted to dine at the country club because it said that it was for members only and guests. We were paying customers of the resort. Were we guests, or did that mean guests of country club members? There was also zero information about appropriate attire, i.e. formal or casual attire. There was zero information about the type of food or pricing. No menu available. The only on-line information we could find said the menu isn't published because the restaurant isn't open to the public. Not wanting to be embarrassed or turned away from the "country club", we dined off the resort which entailed about a 20 minute drive each way. Two of our sons made recommendations and we ate at a very nice restaurant in Williamsburg. We had to be out of our room by 10am sharp so we packed our things and left in the morning and didn't get to see anything of the resort or the amenities. I do not recommend this resort for a single night stay. It might be O.K if you're going to stay for multiple nights, but if you're not confined to a wheel chair, tell them you don't want an accessible room. Shortly after checking out, we got a call from a Marriott vacation club marketing person inquiring about our stay. When we expressed our concern about the room and lack of dining options she implied that we were at fault for not consulting the concierge that was 3/4 of a mile from our accommodations in a separate building. This facility isn't a good choice for a one night stay, and maybe questionable for longer stays. I didn't discover whether the parking fee was per night or per stay, but I don't like surprises and since there isn't any public transportation, I think Marriott should have disclosed the parking fee upon making the reservation. I find these last minute add on fees to be very bush league.

Very disappointing Marriott Hotel
Pros:

Near to Jamestown

Cons:

General facilities very limited the restaurant was a tiny pokey cafe area with high stall chairs at bistro tables, no proper relaxation area.
Really not the standard expected of a Hotel, Rediculous timings: room Check in 4.00pm and check out 10am. No mini bar, instructions in the room requested to remove own rubbish and strip the bed at end of stay! Despite being in a rural area with masses of parking the parking was charged, which is just another profit maker for the Marriott chain.

An Excellent Visit!
Pros:

My wife and I have been MVC owners since 2004. Our trips have mostly been to the western U.S. and Hawaii. This was our first trip to the Manor Club at Ford's Colony.
We stayed in Villa 1612 (2 bedrooms) in the Jefferson Building; it had a view of the golf course and was furnished beautifully. The room was clean and everything functioned as expected. The Jefferson Building was extremely quiet, and this resulted in some really refreshing sleep. The entire Manor Club property is well cared for, and it shows.
The main outdoor pool was clean and the spa was perfect. There was live entertainment one evening in Bistro 1699 and that was an unexpected treat. We attended numerous character reenactments in the Manor Club Theater, and they were highlights of our trip. We hope the Manor Club continues the reenactments as they were very entertaining and informative.
Every Marriott employee we encountered was friendly and courteous. There are many family friendly worthwhile activities in the Williamsburg area, and we could not get to everything. Separate reviews for the activities and restaurants we visited will be submitted at their respective sites on TripAdvisor.
Safe travels to all!

They should get a new manager!
Pros:

We love this location but this stay we had a few problems and only one was compensated for the one hour late check in we received 25$ voucher for the restaurant on site which we used to offset the over priced $25 per night parking fee, which is entirely ridiculous. I asked for a late check out upon my arrival which was about an hour before normal check in which I got way before we encountered any problems then the manager tried to use that as compensation for all the other problems we encountered way after the fact. Anyway hope you don’t encounter any problems cause if you do good luck getting any help from the manager. I am calling the corporate office to get proper compensation for the issues.

Cons:

The manager!!! Kyle De John

Great place, terrific location, and extremely friendly and attentive staff!
Pros:

We have stayed in the smaller guest suite (which was wonderful), but this trip was a week long and we chose the 1 Bd Villa. It was truly a home away from home!

Cons:

Being on the second floor, we did hear some foot stomping above from the 3rd floor, but it wasn't all that bad.
