Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Centre

Very dated, everything felt very grubby and worn. Not what I would expect when staying in a Hilton. Disappointing and wouldn’t stay again. Only good thing was friendly staff and location for concert.
Examples of how grubby it was. Tape covering lift button. Worn dirty carpets, bathroom grubby and chips and marks everywhere. Toilet didn’t flush properly. Overall really rubbish!

On arrival the receptionist informed me that although we had prebooked a twin room and Paid for it there were no longer any left as it was on a first come first served basis. He appeared reluctant to ensure I got what I had booked but then told me he would move us into a twin room but it would mean disappointing another customer and he would have to deal with “fall out

was looking forward to our stay. when we arrived. the receptionist. was very dry and not very welcoming. told very little about were elevator where. room situation dinning room. found out room. which was clean. but very basic. for price that was paid I could gave saved money and stayed at travel lodge. that what it reminded me. breakfast again staff not very friendly. unwelcoming. buffet style breakfast. help your self. bacon dried up rubbery eggs. mushrooms slimmy no teaspoons honey solidified. pastrys. not cooked enough very poor. didnt eat breakfast 2nd morning.

Having to pay additional £12 to park our car.
Also found the room £40 cheaper looking at availability nearer to the specific date we wanted, so cancelled and rebooked.

Looking a little tired in terms of decor. Water was only warm in the morning

My room was a little on the warm side overnight and the heating/AC unit was very noisy if left on. But this was a minimal complaint, could just open the window.

Mushrooms were dry no season or flavour. Could of added some garlic salt pepper either butter or oil. Fried eggs look like they came from a McDonald's mcmuffin, Sausage not great.

Standards very lax for a 4 star hotel. Buttons in the lift held on with tape. Toilet roll holder hanging off the bathroom wall. But probably the worst was the food in the restaurant. I ordered their signature flatbread which consisted of 2 pieces of chicken in breadcrumbs chopped with some lettuce and a slice of tomato on a slightly warm flatbread,very dry. My wife plumped for the Red pesto and mature cheddar sandwich, a scrape of red pesto on 2 slices of normal white bread with a scatter of grated cheese and a small cherry tomato cut in 2.Cost of the sandwich £9.50. We mentioned the cost to our server who told us that they get a lot of complaints about it, he did take 20% off the bill. All in all if you are going to an event at the Hydro location is great but avoid the food as it is not of great quality and way overpriced.

Rather small bathroom, quite a small quilt for large bed, slow service when we ate dinner.

The music in the dining room in the evening was terrible - please can you change the play?

Small bar area which was full when we went down for drinks -so went elsewhere

It was far too hot, and I felt it was over priced

We have received a parking fine - we registered our car and the reception staff said we had 24hrs parking included. We stayed for less than 24hrs but have still been charged. We have submitted proof of our stay but the parking company won’t accept this. I have repeatedly tried to call Hilton to discuss and they don’t answer the phone.

The room was incredibly small.
