My room at the Staybridge Suites Tysons – McLean was clean and comfortable, but I experienced several issues during my two-night stay. I was on the third floor, and one of the two elevators was out of service for my entire stay, which caused longer-than-expected wait times. Shortly after I arrived, the toilet stopped flushing because there was no water in the tank. When I called the front desk, I was told they were working on a water pressure issue, although the kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and bathtub faucets were still functioning. The toilet did not refill overnight and was not usable again until around 6:00 a.m. the next morning. I also had no hot water in the sinks or bathtub when I arrived. After letting the water run for five minutes, there was still no hot water, so I could not shower that first night. The front desk said the hot water problem was related to the same water pressure issue and that it was affecting the entire hotel. The next morning, I was told the problem had been caused by a water main break nearby and that it had been repaired. However, on my second night, there was still no hot water when I tried to shower. After I called again, the desk clerk said he would turn on the boiler and told me to let the water run. I was eventually able to take a hot shower, but the water became cooler halfway through.
My suite included a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator/freezer, but the ice maker was not working. There were no ice machines on the floors and no ice bucket in the room. The front desk told me to bring the empty ice tray from the freezer to the breakfast area so I could fill it from the Coca-Cola fountain. The tray was dirty, so I had to wash it first, and the ice at the soda fountain did not work either. A staff member eventually went to the back and filled the tray for me.
Another issue was that the blackout curtains in both the bedroom and living room did not close all the way. The curtains were not attached properly to the overlapping section of the traverse rod, or the panels may not have been wide enough for the window openings. As a result, there was still a 6- to 8-inch gap when the curtains were fully closed, which allowed daylight to come through.
I originally booked one night for Tuesday, 5/19, but needed to extend my stay for an additional night. My rate for Wednesday, 5/20 was nearly double, although many hotels in the area appeared to be charging premium prices. Still, for $380, I expected consistent hot water. The front desk staff were pleasant, and I did enjoy the complimentary breakfast, especially the biscuits and gravy on Thursday morning. Depending on the price and availability, I might consider staying here again. I had previously stayed at the Watermark Hotel and tried to book there this time, but it was sold out. In comparison, the Watermark felt like a hidden gem—it was noticeably more upscale and offered better value.
One final inconvenience was the lack of USB charging ports at Staybridge Suites.
Just a location close to our family . And that it had 2 bedrooms suite.
Design , and that our room wasn’t ready until 6 pm , they made us wait in the lobby. We were very tired from the trip and wanted to prepare for our celebration but the room wasn’t ready how it should be ready by 3 pm. When asked for the discount I got ignored. Breakfast was just ok, not much choices .
Great, generous breakfast. Always had a meat, eggs, potatoes, waffles plus a wide variety of other choices
The 2 BR suite we reserved was not available, but they provided 2 separate rooms at a 25%discount
I like the location and ease of parking.
Every time I come it is under construction. One elevator was out as well.
Everything
Nothing
Room size was fine.
Beds too small and no USB ports in the room! Breakfast choices were just mediocre.
Everything, great breakfast!
Nothing
Czysto, parking. Wszystko ok.
Śniadania.
Frustrating from the get go. First, no hot water, dishwasher did not work, breakfast was difficult, crowded an unappetizing, parking was crowded and difficult to find a space ( twice I went to my car and found people sitting on my vehicle smoking and drinking. When I sounded my panic alarm, they, thankfully, went running.). Rates were inconsistent with my booking ( directly with the hotel), NO housekeeping, had to find dry towels at the front desk, ran out of toilet paper, had to find someone to restock and resupply
Parking and location.
Only one elevator worked but that happens
