Cons:

Hotel was dated and in need of a renovation. Breakfast was ok. Staff was polite and friendly. Lot's of homeless people hanging around outside the hotel. Expected more from a Wyndham group hotel.

Das Hotel ist alt und wenig renoviert. Wir hatten beim einchecken um 18 Uhr den Safe reklamiert, er ließ sich nicht öffnen. Der Mitarbeiter wollte es regeln, wir sind essen gegangen. Als wir zurück kamen, war nichts passiert, er hätte noch keine Zeit gehabt. Um 21 Uhr bin ich wieder zur Rezeption, da war er gerade unterwegs zu uns. Der Safe ließ sich nicht reparieren und jetzt wäre es zu spät etwas zu regeln. Er würde dem Manager Bescheid geben, er würde sich dann morgen melden, auch das ist nicht geschehen. Es kann mal etwas kaputt gehen, dass ist nicht das Problem, aber diese Unzuverlässigkeit ist nicht ok.

Pros:

It is a unique old hotel with lots of character. There is a restaurant that is connected with great tvs for sports. We didn't eat but they seemed to have a good menu.

Cons:

Very limited reserved parking and there is a parking lot that is near, however there are no incentives from the hotel to save on costs. Your only option afterwards is street parking. There are quite a few homeless people downtown, which the hotel can't do much about.

Disgraceful
Pros:

Would not recommend nor stay at this motel. We were part of a tour group and unfortunately were forced to stay here. Disgusting rooms, old and unclean. Lights didn’t work properly and had stains and rust in the bath. Whilst awaiting for bags to be delivered to the room we went out to try and find a decent place to eat (their ‘restaurant’ looked even worse. When we returned we found that the porter, that we later discovered didn’t even work there, had gone through my wife’s bag. There was no answer at reception. Spoke with our tour guide in the morning who informed the duty manager who said to our face that we were lying. Local Police were called and no cctv was supplied.
Would not even let my dog stay here.

Nice hotel but area was a bit scary.
Pros:

The hotel is almost 100 years old so be prepared for squeaky floors and a few bumps. Staff were lovely. Location was noisy closer to the street and a bit scary to walk along. We were luckily upgraded to a better room on the 4th floor so noise wasn’t as bad. There is a bar underneath. Staff were the standout of the hotel :)

Cons:

Toilet was so close to the bath that if we were taller or bigger size there is no way you could sit there comfortably.

Extremely disappointing. Definitely not worth the $ paid.

We arrived from Calgary at 2:00 a.m. and got to our room ready to just go to sleep. The bed sheet had what looked like a coffee stain on it when we pulled back the covers. It wasn't a huge stain, but what that made me think was that the sheets were not washed from the previous guests and they just remade the bed. There were also some sort of sticky clumps of something stuck to the bottom of the bathtub and the fridge smelled really bad. We called down and requested a new room. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and understanding and switched us to another room right away but the new room had two twin beds instead of a king bed that we had originally booked. There was also no plug for the bath tub, we ran out of toilet paper and had to have housekeeping bring us a new roll (took quite a while so had to wait to use the washroom), there was a make up stain on one of the towels (it was not my makeup because I don't wear foundation and I use makeup wipes to remove my makeup and we also hadn't used any of the towels at that point) and when we went to have a shower in the morning, the water was lukewarm at best. And last but not least, we opened our blinds to see 3 homeless people and all their belongings just hanging out behind the hotel. They were clearly high and two of them were yelling at each other for a bit. The one guy eventually passed out in the middle of the "parking lot" and a passerby had to go see if he was still alive. I understand that that situation is out of your control, somewhat, but maybe a call to the police or something to monitor the area would help keep the area a bit safer for everyone. It was definitely a disappointing stay to say the least and I have to say that we will NOT be staying there again, nor will we recommend the Hotel to anyone.
