Bright and attractive with great bedding and nice bathroom. Perfect location to all nearby restaurants, beach and shopping.
Bathroom lighting was a bit dark for shaving etc
Breakfast was delicious! Servers were so kind and attentive.
You all should consider getting a few fitted pack n play sheets. We brought our own, but for safety reasons, it’s best to have a fitted sheet made for the pack n play mattress so younger babies (0-12 months) can’t accidentally pull the sheet around themselves.
The hotel was clean and close to Indiana Dunes State Park.
I reserved a room with double beds, but when I checked in they gave me a bed with one queen size bed for two people, and only one room key. I was staying with a friend that felt uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed, but we made it work. It was inconvenient to only have one room key. Key. The staff, although very nice and pleasant, we're very clear that they were booked solid with no open rooms, so we didn't even bother to ask about getting a room with two beds like we had reserved.
Breakfast was okay
The staff was very nice and it was pet friendly and clean.
N/A
We didn't eat breakfast there
I didn't like that there was about a 16 inch rip in the pull down shade in the window or masking tape on the wall or the fact that they had a 3 dollar toilet paper holder that was rusty also the dish network constantly went in and out with very few channels available. Our room was above the pool area and we could smell the chlorine when the air conditioner ran. The pool area needs alot of work. The ceiling tiles in bad shape and overall appearance it looked dirty. While we were sitting there a guy came in with 2 clean pool towels that he set on the cart then was going to get dirty towels from the basket but dropped them back in and slammed the lid back on and left. There are many places that needed a paint touch up. I was excited about getting to stay there because who doesn't want to stay at a hilton hotel but very disappointed with the overall appearance, even the pillowcases had frayed edges and the cover on the bed had thread snags all over it giving a wore out appearance.
Hilton had system issues and couldn’t check people in. No one said anything about this to the 10 people waiting in line to check in when we walked in. We waited two hours before being told by manager to find other accommodations, she had no work around or no other suggestions to help us. I had booked the hotel months in advance. On top of it all, they charged my card and said I was a no show after she told me to find other accommodations and after I waited two hours to be checked in. Unbelievably bad customer service from top (called Diamond desk corporate, truly unhelpful) to bottom.
Hotel itself was not the issue. Our room was clean. A bit overpriced especially for the type of customer service. Block of rooms were reserved for a wedding that took place at 4pm. Check in time is 3pm. We got there exactly at 3pm with the intention of changing into our party gowns when we got there. There was some kind of outage and we could not check in. ( i understand that wasn't their fault) No apologies from the front desk and no sort of discount for the lost time we couldn't use our room. Several people had to uncomfortably change in the lobby bathroom. Then we had to carry our bags back to the car, were almost late to the ceremony, and checked in after the wedding party around 11pm.
We booked as part of a wedding rooms blocked off. Could not check in system down while others able to check in. No acknowledgement for people in line waiting 15 -30 mins not knowing this. Forgot to give gift bags out to wedding guests . Was supposed to have open bar and food after wedding but hotel had wrong date down and didn’t have people to handle this. And house keeping woke me up knocking on door before 10 and check out is 12 pm . Lori did her best to try and run front desk and bar basics when the mayhem broke loose. I would think there would be back up to take care of guests when it’s for an important event and we all have it on our phones and prepaid for the room . I would have appreciated a credit back of some sort for the major inconvenience of trying to get ready elsewhere for the wedding . Nice place but follow up for important hopefully once in a lifetime event was terrible and created stress for the couple the parents and all the guests who missed the wedding due to this or stressed having to find other accomodations to get ready.
Convenient
Breakfast not included
Close to State Park
Kind of expensive
The area
We came here for the pool but we can’t use it that day because of some renovation they are doing on the first floor. Ice machine not working in 2nd and 3rd floor. No shampoo and conditioner but called the desk and she did bring us some.
Very clean facility. Great staff
I do not like booking thru 3rd party sites. The phone number on the site was not the hotel but a VB booking site. As a result I was not able to use AARP or AAA discounts.
The SouthShore Drift Co. is AMAZING. Best hotel food I have ever had. I usually skip hotel meals because they’re typically bland and not worth the money, not here! I’m so glad we tried it. It was amazing. Big servings, great quality.
It was comfortable and convenient
