We seen roaches in the room coffee machine was not working
Nothing
Location and price
The elevator kept messing up during our visit
They had a really nice heated swimming pool. Most of the staff seemed fairly polite and were helpful. The parking was convenient, and the hotel had decent town and beach access.
The rooms were very dirty/unclean. Mold in and around the bathrooms, cigarette butts on the balcony, and cockroaches in the room. Wasn't acceptable for the price.
The elevator kept breaking down and we had to use the stairs, not once but several times. We was on the 4th floor so it was a good hike.
The beds were comfortable.
It was not beach front . They didn’t have breakfast. The elevator was broken. And my microwave had food left in it full of bugs. The remote didn’t have batteries. The door had two eyehole with paper towels shoved in it.
Short staffed for the holiday weekend, needs a lot of investment to bring the property to standard
Everything old, needs updates
How close it was to the beach.
The elevators were not working and it looks run down inside
We loved the close proximity to all the shopping and restaurants. We LOVED the pool. The staff were very nice.
The property needs a renovation badly. The bathroom in our room was not nice.
Location

Hair on freaking pillow NEVER AGAIN...... NO STARS RATING
good enough but Wyndham can do better. grounds, rooms, common areas need cleaning and revamping. 3 stars because the staff was nice.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but our stay at the Travelodge by Wyndham Outer Banks/Kill Devil Hills was one of the worst hotel experiences we've had.
The property is extremely run-down and appears to be in desperate need of updates and renovations. From the moment we arrived, there were maintenance and cleanliness issues throughout the property. One elevator was completely out of service, and the second elevator frequently had to be shut down because it was overheating. This was not only inconvenient but also concerning, especially for guests staying on upper floors.
The condition of our room was unacceptable. We found a roach crawling on the wall near the sink area, and there was evidence of an infestation around one of the electrical outlets. To make matters worse, I received an electrical shock when plugging in the bedside lamp. The bathtub would not drain properly, making showers unpleasant, and our balcony was missing chairs, with only a small plastic table provided.
The outdoor areas were no better. The pool area was dirty and littered with debris, trash, and cigarette butts, giving the impression that basic upkeep and cleanliness are not priorities.
Overall, the hotel felt neglected, unsanitary, and poorly maintained. At checkout, I spoke with a manager about the numerous issues, and she acknowledged the problems and offered a refund for one night of our stay. While I appreciated her willingness to address our concerns, it did not make up for the overall experience.
I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this property to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained place to stay in the Outer Banks.
The hotel is very outdated. The room doors desperately need replacing. You can see out the sides of them. This makes the AC not work well. We kept it cooling the entire night and it never got the room cooled to a comfortable temp. The first morning we woke up and saw roaches crawling on the walls! That was enough for me to be done and check out early. The staff was helpful, and refunded the nights we chose to not stay.
Rooms need updating, pest control needs to be brought in!
The pool was nice when it wasn’t over crowded.
They gave my pet friendly room away by mistake so we were out in the 4th floor instead but the elevator didn’t work almost the entire time we were there. The room had hair from pets and humans all over the comforters and sheets. We had 3 towels and 2 washcloths for the entire 3 night stay with 4 people. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting with urine all around the bottom of the toliet and hair and dirt in the tub, sink and covered the floors. There were no other rooms to be switched to.
