Location good
Need a small cafe that serves simple food for breakfast and lunch. Free simple coffee bar in lobby would be nice.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the room upgrades. We hadn't been there for two years. Nice job on everything! Kitchen appliances are much better as well as furnishings. I can't remember if there was a storage room for the bikes two years ago but noticed it this time and it comes in handy. All the staff members are very accommodating!
More umbrellas are needed in the pool area; the current number is greatly inadequate. Also, I was annoyed to find that owners can allow day visitors to utilize the pool area, barbeques, etc. I asked about it at the front desk and was told that it is limited to 20 people per day. That is too many!! The hotel has a lot of rooms; with that many additional people at the pool it would be far too many! On one day of our stay we sat next to a group that was there on a day use situation. There were 15 of them. They were moving chairs and umbrellas from all areas to accommodate themselves. The pool was way too full of children that day running and jumping in. It was not pleasant for older adults of which I am one.
Also, we happen to have a partial view of the ocean but also a view of the roof. A 4th floor room. The roof is not being cleaned off, there was a lot of leaves, dirt, and a couple of dead birds. Very unsightly!!!
One of the elevators was out almost all week. It made it difficult for staff and guests. One of your staff members told me the Service Elevator has been broken for over a year and is not being fixed. It makes it very challenging for the staff that are trying their best to clean rooms and accommodate guests. Please fix that elevator for them!!!
I was disappointed with my stay at Avila Beach Hilton. Unfortunately, the guests in the room above us were constantly walking and making noise late into the night. We were unable to get a good night’s sleep for two consecutive nights.
We reported the issue to the front desk, and we were told that security would check on it. Unfortunately, the noise continued, and nothing seemed to be done to resolve the situation.
The hotel itself is in a beautiful location, but a restful night’s sleep is one of the most important parts of a hotel stay. I hope the hotel takes guest noise complaints more seriously and follows through when concerns are reported.

The location
No continental breakfast
Loved the view from the hotel, it was so nice and relaxing getting to come out to the patio and watch the waves come in. The room was the best, since I took family it was nice to go grab some snacks and be able to cook meals in the kitchen, best money saver!
The price was a bit much for one night, however considering the location, hotel it's self I say this would be a great splurge when able to do. Already looking up dates to return!
Spacious room with a view of the golf course and even a side view of the beach. Property location on the hill above the ocean was terrific. Lots of group gathering spaces around the property.
Surprised at the lack of a food venue/options at the hotel. Close enough to walk into Avila Beach, but there is no sidewalk on the property down to the main road - that seems like a huge oversight and a safety issue. Perhaps most people get their own food and use the kitchens extensively, but we were there for a more limited stay (a CalPoly. graduation) and would have appreciated something more than the limited snacks offered in the lobby. More firepits!
Biews and amenities.
No restaurant.
The location was nice and it was pretty. The main bed was comfortable and they have nice towels.
It was crazy expensive for a property without any real onsite amenities. Elevators were not great and it was really loud in the rooms from other people in the halls and other rooms. The sleeper sofa is a nice size but only suitable for children to sleep on.
Property is on good location. Beautiful view if you get room with a good view . If not you are looking at parking lot
They could design it better so the pool and spa have a ocean view instead of bricks
The 4 pm check in and 10 am check out
Love the pool, hot tub, location
Room 209 has a view of parking lot. The canned musak from lobby comes into the room 24/7. The front office said they turned it down at night but we still heard it. Glad I had earplugs.
