I arrived early and asked if they had rooms available for early checkin to take a shower before having to leave for conference at noon. At 11am a room became available. The staff and then the manager said their policy is to charge $50 early check in fee before noon. It did not cost them extra to give me the room. I do not get a refund if I check out early. Despite being a Hyatt member for over 3 decades, there was no exception. Very disappointing.

Staff very friendly. Only 10-15mins drive from the airport. Good eating places nearby. Room was spacious and modern. Breakfast was ok. Free parking.
What brought it down from a five to a four was the following: The place is strictly geared for the business traveler. Close to Dulles and has access to D.C. Breakfast is very good. Beds are in good shape (no valleys). Quiet bathroom has good pressure. Place kept very clean wth polite / professional staff. Texas Roadhouse within walking dist. If you're a tourist things are different. Room has no microwave or guest laundry room. The pool is outside. All the resteraunts are down the road. If using the Metro train, use Herndon which is about eight miles away and has a parking garage. Use Google maps on your laptop for directions to eateries and trains stations. Aerospace museum is within a few miles (has space shuttle). Grocery store within a few signal lights. If you like Korean food then Centerville. Stay away from the express lanes on the interstate when going to DC (coming back is fine).

The room designs are practical and convenient. The location was great. The price is reasonable.
The AC in our room was set by the hotel and it didn’t let us to adjust to our own comfort. We thought it would take some time to reach the right temperature. But it never happened and we had to call the front desk who sent technician to adjust on their end so that we could adjust to the temperature what we wanted. We lost a few hours sleep when the temperature finally got right. I couldn’t function too well next day.
Perfect place to stay when visiting the Chantilly area. The hospitable staff makes you feel welcome with lots of places to eat within walking distance.
