Breakfast was delicious!
Stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott Markham from July 19 to July 21, 2026 (Room 121), and unfortunately the experience was far below expectations.
I am a frequent hotel guest and an IHG member, so I have experience with different hotel brands and understand the level of service and amenities that guests should expect. Unfortunately, this stay did not provide the quality or value expected from a property under the Marriott name.
The rooms are very outdated and clearly in need of renovation. Our three-room suite had one of the worst views possible, facing a wall, with bunch of heat pumps equipments directly in front of our rooms in the suite. This was extremely disappointing and made the room feel poorly located.
The breakfast experience was another major issue. Some of the staff working around the breakfast area were unfriendly and not welcoming. The breakfast options were limited, and the waffle station was a serious problem. It took us 30 minutes or more just to make a waffle, while breakfast ends at 9:30 AM. For families travelling with kids, this makes it almost impossible to enjoy breakfast without rushing.
I was also surprised that housekeeping is not provided daily. This was inconvenient and not something I expected without clearer communication. In addition, there were no complimentary water bottles provided in the room. The only option to get water was to purchase it, which is something I have never encountered at a hotel of this level.
Overall, this was not good value for the money. The outdated rooms, disappointing view, limited breakfast options, unfriendly breakfast service, lack of basic amenities, and housekeeping policy made this stay very disappointing. I hope management reviews this feedback and takes steps to improve the guest experience.

Sofa bed was uncomfortable. I felt the springs in my ribs. The room had a strong odor.
The location, the clean room, the great breakfast and the swimming pool.
The pull out couch was not comfortable, mattress was very thin, it has springs missing to hold it up and was not sturdy.
The hot tub was not open
Never got to the breakfast so no idea on quality. Hotel is having some maintenance and hot tub is out. Could use some wear and tear issues addressed. Checked in and front desk said they were sold out when I asked about a room switch, they weren't sold out but whatever I won't be back so no biggie
AC didn't work well. 1 ice machine in the staff area.
