Great location in the centre of Winchester.
Check in wasn’t great. They hadn’t got my booking on the system. Had to show him the booking on my phone. Couldn’t get into the room at the first attempt as the card hadn’t cut properly and had to wait quite a while for another.
The pool was good, comfortable bed, clean room
The breakfast could be more variety
The shower water pressure was good, soft towels
No A/C, breakfast basic, not very clean. Children enjoyed the pool but needs updating
In good location for the hospital.
The food at the bar took ages to arrive and it wasn't particularly nice when it dif
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was really good as well
The place just seemed run down, for a 4 star hotel it didn't have the appearance of a 4 star hotel. For example, in my room 207 there is paint pealing from the wall all the lighting and furniture seemed very dated and one the the wall lights kept flashing then going out the you flipped a light switch and it didn't matter which one you touched. The mattress was really bad, well for me it was far to soft and I woke up with a sore lower (personally I prefer a bit of a firmer mattress) Also there spa facilities need repairing, in the sauna the higher bench is loose and dips when you sit on it and there is loads of stuff in between the wood slats, also by the heater there is some type of card board pealing away, the steam room didn't work properly and the jacuzzi was cold and didn't work and the tiling around it was in very poor condition as well you could see where repairs had been done but it wasn't done to a decent standard. I think the hotel needs updating to bring it into the current timeline.
The size of the room was acceptable but that was about it
Where do I start, first of all this is NOT a 4 star property, very musty, probably still original decor and furniture from the 1970, wardrobe door fell off on hand, grimy walls, stains on ceiling. Breakfast was a disaster, no vegetarian meat options, had to clear the table to sit down, no bowled or plates and cutlery was dirty or piled up on tables waiting collection.
Our daughters bed was not made either on arrival
Location, near other places to go
Whole place is falling apart. Lifting carpets, peeling wallpaper, missing curtains in the bedroom Staff not trained. Management incompetent and unable to cope.
Swimming pool, wildlife( lots of rabbits!), adventure playground, very easy to access, back fields.
If there is no timing in the swimming pool, needs renovating, and the cars are annoying when you are trying to sleep.
Nothing
Everything
Location was pretty good.
Not enough staff on. Staff there were run ragged. Most Tried their best…. Some didn’t. Long waits for service at bar. Long waits for food to come. Breakfast was awful. Dirty cutlery. Miserable staff. It was like Fawlty towers.
The suite was roomy. Good double room with extra cot. Separate lounge with 2 sofa beds made up for kids.
Swimming pool nice temp.
Sauna & steam rooms ok.
Short staffed in bar. Very busy breakfast on Bank Holiday Mon, not enough staff, everything seemed to run out and slow to re-fill.
2nd morning much quieter and better.
Also hit with infestation of ants on 2nd morning.
Great staff
Dated room for the prices being charged
Large room
We had to wait 25minutex to check in as receptionist was making beds. She was the only staff member working on a busy bank holiday weekend. We booked 2 single and 1 double and got 1 small double 1 extra large double. Family of 4 only 2 towels in the room. Breakfast only 1 waitress and hotel was so busy. Most breakfast was running out and nobody to clear the tables. No coffee machine
