Staff are amazing, bar is great, rooms are clean and very cool
Location isn’t great without a car, the ac can get very loud
The beds were comfortable. Not all rooms are equally good, which the staff confirmed. We asked to move from our first room as it smelled like cigarettes by the front door, and the AC unit was very loud, but the second room was better. The location was easy access to the highway and it was a fine place to stay the night in between two long drives. The decor in our first room was not great but the second room had a beautiful mural and the whole room looked nicer. The TV was big and had Netflix, which was nice.
The staff wasn't rude, but also wasn't friendly. The girl who checked us in didn't explain the facilities or amenities offered at the hotel (breakfast, that there's a pool, where to fill water bottles, etc.). When I did have to ask other staff about these things, it felt like I was interrupting them from their phones. Our first room had a dirty tin on the side table which made the room feel dirty. The second room was better. Breakfast wasn't great. I love oatmeal, but the oatmeal itself didn't taste good and having all the toppings didn't really make it any better. We did enjoy watching Looney Tunes on the TV in the dining area, and the paintings were cool. The location was convenient to the highway, but the surroundings felt a bit creepy, which wasn't helped by the staff being unfriendly. Maybe we were there on an off day.

-I enjoyed the art that was available throughout the hotel supporting local artists (the art is available for purchase and commission free).
-it was near the freeway but i did not hear traffic at all.
-i barely heard neighbors unless they had the tv on high.
-bed was comfortable
-the room had a little blackboard space on the door and chalk to draw if you wish. (Great for a child activity)
-toilets are low consumption
-the lobby was beautiful and they had a performer singing so you can relax while you drink. You can also use their board games if you like.
-Theres a free arcade and pinball area you can spend time in.
-we received a free drink token each to use in the bar.
-free breakfast (oatmeal bar, poptarts, fruit, tea/coffee)
-pet friendly (check their policy in advance)
Not too fond of oatmeal, but it is only a preference thing. The oatmeal still tasted good and you had a large selection of toppings to choose from.
Air conditioner was cool enough for us but was definitely battling with the summer heat. Just a note for hot sleepers.
The queen standard room has a small bathroom. It is fine for a solo or couple but may be a challenge for wheelchair accessibility.
Overall though this hotel was great though and would definitely consider booking them again on another Tucson visit
Cool place compare to chain motel
I loved the vibe of this hotel! The staff were friendly, the art is beautiful, the bed was comfortable. After driving by some of the other hotels in this price range, I was very glad I chose Hotel McCoy- great value as well. The AC runs continuously, which serves as white noise and a quiet sleep. Also, I recommend the grilled cheese sandwich!
I wish I had more than one night there!
This was a delightful stay. Comfortable, interesting, and almost resort like. Room was clean, well equipped, and artsy. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet (despite being right next to the highway). Will definitely return.
Coffee in the room would be a definite plus.
Charming, clean, had all amenities I could have asked for. Friendly staff. Pet friendly. Has a gym, heated salt swimming pool and we'll appointed rooms. Look at the photos online and social media. Exceptional for families, would be a fun place for a family reunion or a quiet getaway. Highly recommend.
If someone is looking for a luxurious place, this is not that. It is a quirky, artistic re-modeled drive up motel.
The rooms pretty cool, clean, the rooms i saw were nice, very and comfortable retro and complete 180 from the previous run down druggy motel it had been with the previous owners. Their transformation of their recent remodeling renovation was absolutely amazing I wish the staff wasn't so horrible or I would have stayed my whole month visit.
The staff was unbelievably rude beyond normal need. I was nothing but polite and calm and I got two different answers to paying for me room. On the first day I was able to pay with my chime card.No problems, and I did not charge me a deposit. The girls simply put my card on file case. In accidentals, didn't charge me anything was very nice. Then, I had to do with a man. The next day there was a different man working the front desk off the rip he started speaking with sharp rude remarks rolling his eyes at and sighing abnormally loud at my few simple questions. Then he got even more upset and said I need to leave. He said i could not use the same card i used the day before, he said I could not pay with my chime card, that I would eventually steal from them if I was allowed to use that card that i would cancel the transaction outright calling me a thief. Keep in mind.I had already ordered and paid for my room over booking.com. this was all about the card for a separate 100 payment i now had to make for a deposit i didnt have to pay the day beforeIl. had to bring a friend over to use a different credit card and they decided that I now needed to pay a hundred dollar deposit because I was not trustworthy enough to stay there in my room without 100 on the line. I will not be going back. The you credibly rude man said he was a manager and it was so annoyed that I got someone else to pay with their card for the deposit for some reason.He just did not want me to be there or they do anything wrong.I just stayed in my room all night and slept. Super weird and inappropriate behavior.

Exceptional value for money. On Tuesdays, local musicians play Irish sessions, it was so, so nice. The room was spacious, full of beautiful art on the wall, there is a pool, pinball, zen terrace with table tennis, arcade games, a gym...Lots of beautiful grafiti. I you LOVE this place and will definitely come again if i visit Tucson again.
We always love staying here. It's a great location for us, and we love the artsy atmosphere. It's comfortable, clean, and the staff is always nice.
Our refrigerator turned into a freezer, freezing all of our food, and exploding one of our drinks inside. It worked a little too well. LOL I did mention it to the front desk upon leaving, as we had turned the temp down the day before after noticing it was very very cold, and then still experiencing it working way too 'well'.
