Unpleasant smell
Cons:

Carpets were very smelly through the hallways and in the room. Unsure if mould, dust or chemicals from cleaning supplies, but it was quite unpleasant.

Pros:

Convenient location, especially if you’re traveling from out of town or to the airport. Everything was really clean and the rooms and shower were big.

Cons:

Old facilities, old mindset and not up-to-date with what most hotels have the offer these days but for the price range that’s worth it

Fantastic stay highly recommended, very minimal issues and great checkin experience and cleanliness
Pros:

Room was clean and tidy, room cleaning was daily and towls and soap were replaced which is great to see. The air conditioner actually worked properly which is huge, there were no limits on the temperature or fan speed. Check in was super easy and parking was available on site at an affordable price ($25 per night) which was fantastic.

Location wise its superb in the free tram zone in Melbourne central which is super handy, and the pool and gym were quite nice. I didn't get to try out the sauna as I was busy but they had one which is a plus.

Cons:

Very small issues I noticed:

The room had a couple of very small long term maintenance things that need to be fixed such as a shelf missing one of the supports and almost came crashing down when I went to get the tea cup off the shelf. There is no way cleaning hasn't noticed this as it would fall when you stack the shelf meaning someone has been ignoring it.
Also the toilet paper holder in the bathroom fell off the wall because its not screwed in (I would have fixed it myself if I had a screw driver its super easy to fix).

The air conditioner compressor is also a bit loud and is fixed speed so it cuts on and off like an old style window rattler does, overall not too bad as I would rather have a working quality AC like this than the newer hotel style ones that don't let you set a proper temperature and leave you to melt in your room. I would just recommend some ear plugs if you like to sleep cold as it will cut on and off overnight.

Pros:

Everything!! We were able to leave our luggage after arrival from train. Excellent service at reception as usual we always look forward to our stay. Breakfast was very enjoyable and great coffee machine. Our room was fabulous as usual even our towels were changed felt special and spoilt thank you.

Cons:

Having to leave 😕 we had the best few days away and appreciated our room view pretty good 👍
