If you're looking for comfort and friendly people, this is the place to stay!
Pros:

This was my third time staying at this location. The staff are great, it's very clean and comfy. It's near stores and restaurants galore. It's not the lap of luxury, but it's top notch for the money. A big shout out to the woman working the desk the morning of Sept. 5 because we thought we were going to have to book yet another stay because there were storms the previous night that had knocked out the power to where we were going, so she arranged a way for us to "hold" a room without the upcharge. Turned out we didn't need it and we were not charged. Also, one of the desk staff was looking at me as I was walking into the lobby and she asked if I had been there before. I told her yes, last summer. (I had travelled to Ohio to see my daughter and then on to North Dakota to visit my boyfriend). Apparently, I had told her about him last year because she said, "You are the one with the boyfriend in North Dakota!" I was stunned! With all the people who come in and out of a hotel in 14 months, she remembered me! That shows they pay attention to their guests! Also, a shout out to the woman at the desk on the morning of Sept. 7th. So friendly and relatable! I do want to mention that last year, we stayed at another Comfort Inn, I think in Canton (don't quote me because I am not sure) and it was terrible. I told her about it, and she said that the South Akron location is one of four owned by Choice, and she was aware of another one who didn't make the cut so was stripped of its "title". Had to be that place. VASTLY different from the South Akron location. Great job, everyone! I look forward to my next visit next September!

Cons:

The pool could be a bit bigger, but that's minor. I seem to remember there was an ATM in the lobby at my last visit in 2025. This trip, there was not. I had to drive to BP down the street at five in the morning to get money for the day. Also, the woman in the cafeteria was a bit "moody" on Sept. 4th. She was kind of rude to the guests who used the wrong utensils (I was one of them) for the buffet breakfast. It was very early and she stated she had been there since 3 a.m., so she was probably just tired, I get that, but the guests didn't need a dissertation about cross contamination at 7am. All she needed to do was replace the utensils. I stayed the night of the 3rd into the 4th and the 6th to the 7th. She was not there the second stay and the woman who was there was great!
