We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Its biggest advantage is definitely the location, which is excellent and makes it very easy to explore the area and access nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation.
Another highlight was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and always willing to assist with any questions or requests.
The hotel itself is rather simple and could benefit from some refurbishment and general maintenance in certain areas. However, considering the price paid, we felt that the overall value for money was very good. The excellent location and the quality of service more than compensated for these minor shortcomings.
We would gladly stay here again and would recommend it to travelers looking for a well-located hotel with a friendly atmosphere and reasonable rates.
I walked into the Edward Hotel in May 2026 after getting stuck at Paddington late in the evening when all trains to my destination were cancelled. Helga, the receptionist, saved the day by being welcoming, giving me her full attention and finding me a room. I've met few hotel receptionists with her customer service skills. Thanks again!

Excellent location, the hotel had everything we needed and the staff were lovely! The bed was also really comfortable.
The room was teeny tiny, barely bigger than the bed. You could only get in from one side and had to clamber over the other to get out. Also the lift wasn’t working.
Good location close to the train station and to Hyde park. Various pub cafe and restaurant options on the street below the hotel. Staff were always there at the desk.
Room was a little small and aircon was very loud and not that effective at cooling down the room - London had a heat wave whilst we were here.

It is a very decent location, close to Paddington station. The staff were pleasant.
The room was fine, very tiny bathroom, had to squeeze past the sink to get out the shower. The lift was broken the entire week I stayed and it was during a heat wave so I had to walk up 4 flights of stairs in 33 degree heat. I came into my room after it was cleaned one day and there was a strange odour.

The location was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful
The room needed repairs there was a crack in the shower floor. Screws were coming loose on bathroom door handle. There was a large crack in the mirror in the room and the sockets didn't work so using the kettle to make a cuppa so we had to go out to get first cuppa of the day couldn't charge phones. The hotel was scruffy and tired looking it needs a refurbish.
Location was great: around 100m from Paddington station and the National Express coach stop.
The lift was done: none helped us to bring our 2 suitcases to the 5th floor where our room was. No discount offered, not even of a bottle of water was given...
Lift was down for our whole stay.
The Egyptian receptionist was very friendly politeand cooperative
The elevator got out of order and was not fixed for 4 days out of my 7 days stay at the hotel
