Good location and friendly staff. Easy walk to Belmont park and mission beach.
Not well maintained overall and some issues with cleaning. From the moment you walk into the lobby you get a sense of things- musty and dated. Choose rooms carefully as there are many buildings and some obviously much newer/updated than others.
Hot tub and seals. The beach. Close to beach and bay. Good food at the beach. Saw seals being fed. My mom was given a great view from her room. Drink at hot tub. Another day was delicious, and the hot tub was clean and hot like I remember from my first stay here with my daughter and mom.
I'm disappointed with Bianchi. Server spilled drink on my mom. Food wasn't as good as i thought it would be. They put us in the wrong room when we checked in. So it took a while to get that straightened out. The hot tub wasn't working the first time we used it. The water was milky.
The 2 queen suite was comfortable. Large enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The resort is close to the oceanside, walking distance.
Parking is cramped. The double bed regular room was too cramped, and I had to upgrade. Also wasn't very clean. The upgrade was cleaner. Disappointed with the beach description. It is a bay area, lots of boats. Good for small kids maybe or just to lay out.
room was spacious and had a balcony looking at the bay. grounds were well maintained with lush plants. the beach was very nice and calm perfect for young kids. we loved playing pickleball and dined on site which was a little more expensive but very relaxing.
Private beach
Small bugs near the parking lot.
Location- Not too many walkable attractions.
We like the location and the grounds to the property. The bay/beach activities are also convenient.
The location, the staff, the surroundings, it felt like we were in Mexico or Hawaii jungle vibes … everything was a surprise, the views, the trail you walk, the trees, the seals, the pool, the restaurants!!
The bathroom was tiny and smelled very weird, even my kids complained about this. and the prices for food/drinks inside the restaurant are INSANELY high
I liked the location.
They never gonna give you a good room, if you hadn't booked directly from them.
Everything
Nothing
The restaurants were very nice, reasonably priced, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
The room was in terrible condition. The carpet was filthy, the wallpaper was peeling, the furniture was broken. The room was not designed for extended stay. The layout and the size of the bathroom made it tricky for a family of three to stay comfortably. There was no storage in the actual bathroom. We had to use the bar area for toiletries . And housekeeping only came once. One day we were gone from early morning till 3pm and they still hadn't come. We chose Bahia because of the activities, but they were a lot less impressive in person. The private beach wasn't someplace we wanted to get in the water, and the cabanas were very dirty. I don't know how often they clean them but we didn't want to touch the pillows. There is a small playground, there is a pickle ball or tennis court, we never used. The garden is a nice walk through and the seals were fun. There were no paddle boat rentals and the riverboat only runs on Sunday. They are renovating rooms, but ours clearly wasn't. I don't know how many are already renovated, but they shouldn't be using the rooms that aren't if they are in as bad condition as ours was. I have stayed at some really cheap hotels with better rooms than this one. We mad ethe best of it and had a great vacation despite the room and lack of activities. It definitely eas not a resort room, and was not worth the money. We would only stay again if a renovated room was guaranteed and the price was dropped significantly.
A Getaway at your getaway!!!
Bahia has to be hands down one THE BEST resort in Mission Bay, and a stones throw away from Belmont Park and Mission Beach.
Upon arriving, we did have a few slight hiccups with our room, (we had to move a few times) First room, no AC. Second Room, No Electricity, Third Room was near the lobby and not so private like our original….. However, our 4th room was wonderful!!! All thanks to Georgia!!! She really took care of my partner and I, as it was our first trip together and we were very overdue for a vacation. Obviously some things are out of peoples control, and I’m beyond grateful for the
We stayed in a King Suite, which was super comfortable and the access to the bay was just steps from our room right onto the beach.
My dog also had a wonderful time!!! He was welcomed just as much as we were. Having the ability to swim and play fetch in the bay really made our trip whole.
We had dinner and cocktails at Bianci and had wonderful service. Sophia went above and beyond to give us amazing recommendations as well as pleasant and fabulous conversation. She even catered to my dog and brought him water and lots of love!!! The Manager (whose name I forgot) and the bartender “Senaida” were also super hospitable.
Overall the entire trip was wonderful and my partner and I will absolutely be back in the near future!
Thanks so much for the amazing time!!! And thank you Georgia for taking the best care of us that I’ve ever experienced in San Diego!
We liked the size of the room.
We originally booked a room with a view but were changed. I had been messaging months in advance to make sure with zero response. Our room over viewed the parking lots full
Of homeless people. Room was musty and not clean found food and legit finger nails under the living room dresser. The beach for the hotel was dirty lots of trash the picking beach was cleaner which was sad since there were lots of homeless. Least it was all walking Lack of communication from property and what they take for incidentals was a little upsetting since I wasn’t prepared for that much but I get it. We were also supposed to have a kitchenette that didn’t happen and no items to eat off of, I pinch my Pennie’s and everything that we were prepared to get we didn’t get. However if you use your incidentals you’re pretty much seen as at risk and they take more from your card. Again I get it but for a holiday weekend and we only spent 220 out of the 600 little upsetting. Just would like better communication. Staff were nice but again the rudeness when we asked about why they took more were rude and we were told because we can. Policies were vague, we just tried to make the best of the rest of the trip for what you pay for a room you don’t get anything no food included, no drinks I mean a dirty room. We got more and a much nicer room at a holiday express. For a resort I would have expected better which is what we were hoping for the experience. O well least the bed were comfortable and the room space was great. We choose it for the reviews but it really is not family friendly more of a business meeting and adult place who wants quiet. We did have lots of families the few I spoke with were also in the same boat as well feeling like we all walked on eggshells. I have little kids and I’m super strict especially in public but even when they are walking being quiet it still felt just off I dunno if your a mom you know what I mean. We won’t be staying here again which is a bummer we had high hopes.
