Grand Hotel Aminta

Lovely hotel with the most gorgeous views over Sorrento, the Bay Of Naples and Mt Vesuvius. The shuttle bus made access into the town really easy. Service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.

My husband and I are just about to leave this beautiful hotel after a wonderful 3 nights.
Location:
Great location in our opinion as we like the fact that the hotel is just out of the town, feels like we have the best of both with the complementary shuttle bus into town on the hour (from hotel) and on the half hour (from Sorrento to hotel) - even on a busy time like 7pm the hotel put on additional runs to the town to accommodate more people. The views from all areas of the hotel are amazing.

Rooms:
We stayed in room 502 and although initially we were keen for a balcony on seeing the room there was two windows spanning the length of the room which gave us incredible views of sunset and we wouldn’t have swapped for a balcony even if it was available!
Rooms were comfy and clean, shower no bath but that suits us.
Mini fridge with lots of choice - price point was pretty standard for what we have experienced in the past from a room mini bar.
I have long hair so the room hair dryer just cut out but I rang reception to see if they had a portable and they arrived within minutes with one for me.
We also have late check out for €60 which is super handy given we don’t fly till evening and standard check out is 12.
Hotel its self is very clean, bright and never felt busy despite being told on check in that the hotel was full.
Thankfully no sunbed wars and you could always get one at various times of the day.
Pool guy was super helpful and always tentative.
We had breakfast included and if I’m honest the pictures and descriptions I had seen both on the hotels social
Media and other reviews in our opinion don’t do it justice, I was expecting a very simple continental breakfast but it was so much more, a selection of hot food - bacon eggs beans sausage and mushrooms.
Cakes, pastries and doughnuts that change daily giving variety.
Along with cereals juices, toast, ham cheeses, fruit and yogurts.

We also dined at the hotel restaurant and the food and service was outstanding I would definitely recommend.

We also had a club sandwich from the snack bar one lunchtime after a trip and it was amazing.

One thing that stands out in this hotel is the staff and the service they provide it is exceptional. All staff appear happy to help any time of the day.

I would definitely recommend staying here, we have throughly enjoyed our time and would absolutely book to stay again.

Great location, just outside the hustle and bustle, with a shuttle to get to/from throughout the day and evening. Hotel itself was beautiful, peaceful, great views all around. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Had both a dinner and lunch there….enjoyed both.

Excellent hotel. The view from the main balcony is stunning. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The standard of the food was excellent. The regular shuttle bus made Sorrento town easily accessible.

My wife and I returned to Sorrento and the Grand Hotel Aminta on our 10 year wedding anniversary to show our two daughters where we got married and honeymooned. The hotel, the staff, the service was just as great, if not better, as our prior stay. The hotel looked liked it had been recently updated and the room was amazing with a breathtaking view of the bay of Naples and Vesuvius in the background. The food was so good that my kids did not want to leave the hotel. Breakfast was a must, then to the pool, then lunch outside by the pool and then back to the pool was their perfect day. All that being said, it was the little things that we will remember that made the trip stand out. For example, the maid staff arranging my daughters stuffed animals in a different way every time they cleaned the room or the bar staff making them special drinks, one of them even made them ballon animals one afternoon, this made their day. It’s not easy to find a great hotel with all the amenities that the Grand Hotel Aminta offers, but it’s the little things that they do that goes above and beyond that will keep us coming back whenever we can.

Everything was amazing - possibly one of the best if not the best hotel I’ve stayed at in the last 20 years. Staff amazingly professional yet super warm. Pool area and bar have the most stunning view. Food amazing. Facilities really comfortable.

Great breakfast, pool, and general set up. The view over Sorrento is extraordinary. The bus shuttle service was prompt and made it easy to venture in and out of the central area.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Hotel Aminta. Everything was excellent from start to finish — the hotel is beautiful, the views are incredible, and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming.

Our room was comfortable and very clean, and the entire property was well maintained. Breakfast was great, and we really appreciated the overall atmosphere of the hotel. It felt relaxing and peaceful while still being convenient for exploring Sorrento and the surrounding area.

One of the highlights was definitely the service. Everyone we interacted with made us feel taken care of and helped make the stay easy and enjoyable.

We would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend Grand Hotel Aminta to anyone visiting Sorrento.

We had a great stay in Grand Aminta! We stayed for 5 nights. The location is up a hill but the hotel do offer a free shuttle bus every hour, sometimes it can come a bit earlier than it says so we always ensured we were there 15 minutes before to make sure we got a seat and not miss it (as sometimes it can be busy especially the 10:30pm bus). To get on the bus, you have to cross the road at the hotel, which is very dangerous, but it appears to be the same for other hotels in the area too! A zebra crossing would be good! The pool area was very nice, and the man working at the pool was very good! He would lay our towels out for us and was always very pleasant to speak to. The hotel has a jacuzzi adult-only area, which is very nice. To enhance the area they could have sun-loungers at this area to sunbathe rather than just chairs. Our room was very spacious, some parts of our room were a little bit tired. We got upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi bath, but we did not use it as there was a lot of dirty grout around the edges making it unappealing. We had a garden balcony room, but there was a storm on one of the days, and the balcony was dirty from then to the end of our stay so we never went out in it. Breakfast was included which was good with a good selection of pastries and fruit and some hot food. Coffee was good at breakfast and the staff were very good. We ate lunch at the hotel twice, we had a Caesar salad and pizza on one day, they were not great, the Caesar lettuce and tomatoes were room temperature and as it had been very hot, it would have been good if they were refrigerated. The pizza was just ok also. The second time we had pasta, they were much better, although my husband got carbonara and it was very salty. I would say drinks were on the pricey side with an Aperol spritz setting you back €15 and a regular draft beer being €10 and a soda drink such as a Fanta being €7. Overall, I would stay here again, the staff are very good and the views are stunning!
