The Knight Residence by Mansley was the perfect home base for our family vacation. It's just a short walk to Grassmarket where there are loads of excellent restaurants and shopping. We really enjoyed the breakfast items that were waiting for us upon our arrival. There is a marker just around the corner where we were able to get all of the other staples we needed for our stay. There is no A/C, which was a bit of a surprise, but it cooled down enough at night to make the temp quite pleasant. We actually enjoyed opening the windows and getting some fresh air and breezes in the room.
The rooms were really dirty, old and nothing like it seem in the picures.
The driver/ washer didn’t work
The sofa was also really old and the covers were old and no really clean
The carpets were really dirty

Location is excellent, our apartment was cosy and convenient, the kitchen very useful (large fridge!), and the bed was of high quality (of key importance for us). We would unhesitatingly return.
This is an ideal location, only a few blocks from Edinburgh Castle, a Sainsbury's grocery, and the get-on, get-off buses. The accommodations are spacious and well-equipped. The staff was very helpful. I would give the ambiance a B-, the buildings and units could use new carpeting and a little painting, especially in the common areas. We had a group of 10 and would use this location again if we ever returned.

Excellent location, in walking distance to Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Princes Park and Waverley station. Apartment is perfect for a family, with comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. The kitchen had a wonderful array of teas and coffee with fresh milk in the fridge, a nice welcome. Very friendly check-in. Just around the corner was a Sainsburys, which was very convenient. Our apartment was very quiet, we enjoyed our stay.
The window Roller-blind in the twin room did not darken the room, with morning light shining through and on the sides. Otherwise nothing to complain about.
