كانت إقامتنا في PortoBay Santa Maria جميلة جدًا، والفندق فاق توقعاتنا. الموقع ممتاز جدًا في قلب المدينة القديمة، وقريب من المطاعم والمقاهي والأماكن التي يمكن زيارتها، وهذا جعل التنقل واستكشاف فونشال سهل جدًا.

الغرفة كانت نظيفة ومريحة، وأحببنا وجود البلكونة والإطلالة. الفندق بشكل عام هادئ ومرتب، والموظفون كانوا ودودين ومتعاونين جدًا.

بصراحة كانت إقامة ممتعة جدًا، وإذا رجعنا إلى ماديرا مرة أخرى، سيكون PortoBay Santa Maria بالتأكيد من خياراتنا الأولى. أنصح به جدًا لمن يريد فندق مريح وموقعه ممتاز في وسط فونشال

We had a great check-in experience with this hotel, and they had upgraded our room for us. We were only staying one night, but had a great room with a beautiful balcony. They had even left a little treat for our anniversary. The front desk was very helpful, personable, and welcoming. The breakfast area is huge and has a ton of choices. We didn't find it quite as high quality a breakfast as some of our other hotels in Portugal, but this was the biggest selection for sure.

Fantastisk beliggenhet i gamlebyen, rett på strandpromenaden. Rent hotell med god service. Mange gode restauranter rett i nærheten, nesten som at hotellet har en egen restaurantgate. God frokost og fint med strandbar ved solsenger og basseng. Kort unna sentrum av gamlebyen også, med mange severdigheter og enda flere restauranter. Rommet var stort og behagelig med gode senger, med flott utsikt over stranda. Hotellet har også en nydelig takterrasse med boblebad.

Gelegen aan zee in het oude stadshart. Ruime kamer met zeezicht en prima bedden. Goed ontbijt. Veel keus aan restaurants in de directe omgeving. Er is op 5 minuten lopen een helling naar zee.

Location, friendly and helpful staff

We booked a return trip for my husband's 40th birthday and couldn't fault this hotel again.
Friendly and very helpful staff, spotlessly clean throughout the whole hotel, and the location cannot be beaten.
Our room was a junior suite with a sea view and had two balconies with fabulous views. The air con worked wonders and cooled the whole room down. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and the bathroom had everything you could need. Pool towels were supplied along with plenty of bathroom towels.
I cannot rate the breakfast highly enough – anything you could think of, they have it. You have a choice of eating inside, outside, or outside but under cover and it was such a lovely, peaceful area to start your day. They even have someone wondering round with a very large and beautiful bird of prey to make sure the pigeons don't bother you during your breakfast!
We had the indoor pool and jacuzzi to ourselves when we visited, and it was lovely and relaxing.
I never mentioned on booking the hotel that it was my husband's birthday but on that morning, a breakfast table was laid out especially for us. There was also a bottle of fizz in our room when we arrived back in the afternoon. Neither of us like wine so I left a nice note saying thank you very much, but we don't actually drink wine and the following day, a chocolate cake arrived! Very unexpected but it was such a lovely surprise! We had a very enjoyable evening sitting on the balcony listening to a fantastic guitar player and munching on an extremely delicious cake.
Overall, this hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed in, and it will be the only one we choose when we visit Funchal again. Thank you to all the staff for your thoughtfulness that made it so special!

An absolutely fantastic hotel! It has a great location, plenty of sunbeds, nice pools and jacuzzis. The restaurant and entertainment were also top-notch. Beautiful gardens, stunning views, and an excellent starting point for all your tours around the island. The hotel truly makes something special out of every day. We had a great time!
