Cost is so much higher in the summer. TV was horrible.
Extremely well located, love the ambience
All in all we had a nice stay with a comfortable and spacious room. I have to say, however, that the staff at the hotel were some of the most unfriendly hospitality staff I have ever encountered anywhere. To the point that, when i was checking out and had a question, I got scolded by the woman in the office for not ringing the bell and instead politely saying “excuse me” to get her attention. I’ve never encountered anything like it anywhere. The hotel would do well to host a staff training on hospitality and how to be friendly to its guests.
We stayed two evenings, but hotel was busy, so we had to change rooms after the first night. Although the rooms were booked in April and we were staying in late June, there did seem to be any effort to find a single room we could stay in for two consecutive nights.
The second day of the stay we essentially checked out and stored our bags in a locked closet, returning at 2:30 PM. We were scolded for hoping to check-in before the advertised time 4:00 PM. As we waited in the lobby, numerous other guests were checked-in. Since staff knew we were inconvenienced, it seems they could have made an effort to get our room ready well before 4:00 PM.
Front desk seemed blasé and going through the motions, rather than interested in getting us into a room as soon as reasonably possible. Tone and attitude was not great.
Good location within walking distance of shops and park. Adequate parking on site. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast and areas to sit both inside and outside.
Clean, friendly staff, good bed
No hand held shower, mediocre breakfast
Receptionist didn’t tell us about the breakfast or the gym or how we could get out/in without going through the front door. Outlet in the bathroom didn’t work, which meant the hairdryer didn’t work.
Well located with great places to sit and relax by the creek.
It was hot, very hot but the room fan was so outdated and noisy (like an engine turning on and off every few minutes) that we had to choose between quiet or heat to sleep. Parking was also tough, but if you score a spot v street parking, you can walk everywhere.
Very nice hotel
Being central and close to theatres
The breakfast was excellent. The room was really nice. It had a very comfortable bed. It was really close to the theaters so we could easily find a place to eat nearby and walk to them.
Close to shops and restaurants downtown and Oregon Shakespeare Theaters
