decor is amazing
The shower was terrible, the pressure was no good. And I felt like I was rolling into the middle of the bed all night.. like there was a dip in the mattress or something.
The bed was extremely comfortable with a quiet room. Curtains blocked out all light and was a pleasant sleep. Bar staff were friendly and very helpful on where to go for day trips.
The receptionist on arrival was cold and not very welcoming, and had the same experience the next morning with a completely different receptionist. Checking out on the Sunday we finally received a friendly welcome from a lovely lady behind the desk. The bathroom had a really old dirt smell coming up from the drain while showering.

Parking is not great as you have to move the vehicle during the day to avoid parking fines.
It’s a charming boutique hotel with luxe touches. It’s great to see a fine period building (or two) preserved and modernised for use today. The lobby and bar area are classy and perfect for relaxing, and the food in the restaurant is top notch. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The wooden lift is a classic and works! Plus it’s a short walk to the Octagon, surrounding cafes and restaurants and the George Street shops.

Breakfast was great, room was very comfortable.
1) The barman kept on pouring drinks for a woman who should have been sent home a few drinks before she was.
2) The lighting in the room itself was definitely not good enough

Not an issue for us - but the lift didn’t go directly to our floor so had to walk down half a flight of stairs with our luggage.
location although very noisy during the night, meal was nice but very pricey. Valet parking 40 dollars.
staff we found an empty water bottle in the minibar and took it down and asked it to be replaced as soon as we got there. was charged the next morning athough we informed staff and requested another bottle. was later refunded when we contested it. no one asked i lf they could take bags to our room. Asked for superior room not superior at all. Have stayed several times before, but this time found quality slipping.

Had an amazing stay at the Fable Hotel. Beautiful rooms, great atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Their friendly service made all the difference. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
