The only positive aspects of this hotel were its central location and one staff member named Medina, who was genuinely kind and helpful. After we expressed our disappointment with the room we were initially assigned, she took the time to show us another room and tried her best to assist us. Unfortunately, apart from her professionalism, our overall experience did not meet the standards we expected from a Holiday Inn.
Before arriving, I had already informed the hotel of my room preferences. When we checked in around 7:00 PM, we were assigned a room on the 6th floor overlooking a dark internal courtyard. The room received almost no natural light and felt very depressing. When I explained that I was unhappy with the room, the French receptionist (I believe her name was Lausanne or something similar) was not welcoming or understanding. She insisted the hotel was fully booked and repeatedly told me that this was already an upgraded room. Fortunately, another receptionist, Medina, was much more professional and kindly showed us another room. Although it was on a lower floor than the room category we had booked, we accepted room 420 because it was brighter and faced the front of the hotel.Unfortunately, the room had not been cleaned properly and there was visible dust. On the second evening, when we returned to the hotel, the room smelled strongly of sewage coming from the bathroom. A staff member explained that this occasionally happens in the lower-floor rooms because the building is old. He sprayed chemicals in the bathroom and offered to move us the next day, but since we only had one day of our holiday left, we did not want to spend it packing and changing rooms.Another major disappointment was the air conditioning. Although the thermostat displayed 19°C, the actual room temperature remained around 25°C. We later discovered that guests cannot control the air conditioning because it is managed by reception. During July, when outside temperatures exceed 35°C in Nice, sleeping in a 25°C room was very uncomfortable.Overall, the hotel feels outdated. The rooms are small, housekeeping needs improvement, breakfast is quite limited, the elevators are slow, and some staff members weren't particularly friendly. Rooms facing the back are dark, while rooms facing the street are noisy.

Location, staff, breakfast and restaurant in general
It’s quite old and rooms aren’t immaculate but it’s an old city so it’s sort of expected.
Near the centre of Nice.
