Highly, highly recommend Casa de Sierra Nevada. The hospitality was greater than we have ever experienced at any hotel and/or resort. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful, but in a genuine manner. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and the room in which we stayed was large and well-appointed, including two separate seating areas, a large bathroom and heated plunge pool, as well as a stocked minibar with high-end spirit options (Deluxe Superior One Bedroom). The location is perfect for walking throughout the central district, with the main square being approximately 2 blocks northwest of the property and the park being 3 blocks to the south. This was preferable to the other hotel we were considering, The Rosewood San Miguel, as it is a relatively significant uphill walk to the square/shops from the Rosewood. In addition, the breakfast at the hotel was arguably our best meal of the day, which is considerable given the excellent restaurant options in San Miguel. We will absolutely choose to stay at this hotel again.
Casa Sierra Nevada is an excellent hotel choice of hotel in San Miguel de Allende as it truly represents the city in a good way. It has great staff, exceptional service, nice food and drinks. They offer fun activities, including a really good cooking class which I highly recommend.
This hotel has many facilities throughout the area surrounding the park, and the eastern half of town. Food is amazing, service is friendly and helpful with a smile. I will be back without a doubt. Trip of a lifetime
Our overall experience was exceptional from start to finish. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and well maintained, and every member of the staff made us feel welcome. The delicious food, relaxing rooftop terrace, and outstanding service created a memorable stay. We especially appreciate Alejandro Van Oordt, Fernando, and Lariza for their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Their hospitality made us feel at home, and we look forward to returning in the future. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit so enjoyable.
The perfect get away weekend for dinning and relaxing. many restaurants to choose from and plenty of stars and museums to visit.
This hotel is what made the stay so
memorable. I could’ve stayed here and never left the whole weekend. The food is superb. Staff were attentive and very pleasant.
We visited in October and it was very hot in the afternoons. It’s a beautiful city but you’ll need tennis shoes on every time you go out. The cobblestone streets are hard going in other shoes. Two full days gives you plenty of time to look around unless you are there for a specific reason. We had the best mole I’ve had in Mexico in SMDA. I’d probably plan to stay in one of the airport cities for a few days if I go again.
Possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The service is amazing the rooms are wonderful. The location is perfect. The price is reasonable considering the quality. Super clean, super quiet. It feels like your oasis in Mexico! Don't hesitate to go!
Exceptional service from a team that truly cares. We felt at home, our dogs were welcomed by name, and every detail of the stay was thoughtfully handled. A memorable experience from start to finish.
Location
Our recent stay at the Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada was, in a word, fabulous. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like a hotel and more like an intimate, beautiful sanctuary.
We had a lovely room with a huge bathroom right by the pool. The entire property feels incredibly special and intimate. One of our favorite moments was watching the sunset from the rooftop bar…the view is spectacular. When the evening breeze picked up, the staff were right there passing out blankets. Every single detail was considered.
The breakfast was a highlight of every morning. The fresh pastries were fresh and delicious, and the chilaquiles were a standout, and in the evenings, the drinks at the bar were fantastic.
Honestly, it was the staff that made our stay so special. Everyone was incredibly thoughtful and kind, and I only wish I could remember every single person’s name because the entire team was so wonderful. Paula at check-in, Oscar at the bar, Brickellia the concierge, Alejandro, Front of House Manager, Noreli in Food & Beverage, Michael, the General Manager. Their hospitality is the heart of this hotel.
We stayed four nights in late April and had a wonderful time. From greeting through till departure, this really was a warm, luxury experience. The room (#484) was well appointed with all the modern amenities while retaining beautiful historic architectural details; we liked that it was in a casa just a few steps from both the main reception building and the pool/Tunki building, because it was especially quiet. The pool was beautiful and generally peaceful in late morning--sometimes by mid-afternoon, all of the loungers were taken, but staff were helpful in accommodating everyone. They also provided fantastic service poolside, including offering up free snacks and popsicles on a particularly hot day, in addition to a menu of food and drinks.
All of our encounters with staff were what made the stay special (and preferable to another 'luxury' hotel we stayed at in town later in the week). The breakfast crew in the Andanza restaurant paid careful attention to detail, learning our names and preferences immediately. In particular, Israel took great care of us at breakfast, and we loved chatting with Jesse, who recommended we visit Restaurante del Parque (the more "traditional/regional Mexican" restaurant at the Belmond's other building a few blocks away); we did just that on our last night in town (several days after we'd checked out of Casa de Sierra Nevada), and Jesse -- who happened to be working there that night -- remembered us by name and gave us a splendid, memorable dinner experience. We also really enjoyed talking with a bartender at Blue Bar about the unique spirits distilled in different regions of Mexico. The housekeeping team was always friendly and did a great job. And from beginning to end, bellhop Jorge looked out for us and made our logistics run seamlessly.
Wow what a special place that we will never forget!
A few star employees for us that really made our stay special, Paula from concierge was an absolute delight to deal with, the dinner recommendation in our last night was an absolute highlight for us! Actually everything she helped us with was incredible :) as well as Octavio (hope that’s right, golden keys concierge gentleman), nothing was too much despite our many questions.
The wine farm recommendations were just perfection, we have done may wine tastings before but tres raices really stood out as one of the best, especially our host Marco, we are so grateful for the recommendation and the experience.
Oscar hosted us for the margarita class and he was super, it was really great to learn more about him and we now can surely make the best margaritas !
And of course the breakfast and pool team were really very friendly and made us feel at home.
The room was incredible and nothing I ever expected to experience in my life, we have beautiful memories from your special city- thank you from the bottom of out hearts.
this is a tourist city so busy but once you enter into the cooling atmosphere of this beautiful hotel in a wonderful City all the burdens of daily life fall away. Admittedly we had the best suite with roof top terrace overlooking the town and church but it was worth every penny. Not cheap but one doesn't mind when the place is uniquely faultless almost. Will definitely return whenever I wish to recharge the batteries.
nothing
We had a really wonderful stay at Casa de Sierra Nevada, A Belmond Hotel, and it’s one of those places you remember for all the right reasons. The hotel is beautiful, full of character, luxurious but still very natural and relaxed. It has that special kind of slow luxury where nothing feels too much, just thoughtful, warm, and very well done.
What stood out most to us was how looked after we felt during the whole stay. Everyone made us feel welcome, comfortable, and truly cared for in a very genuine way.
The breakfast at Andanza was honestly one of our favorite parts of the day, everything fresh and really well prepared, and such a lovely way to start the morning.
Tunki was also a highlight. The food was excellent, A really great restaurant.
We also loved the meditation class, which was such a nice touch and added to the peaceful feeling of the whole property.
A special thank you to some of the amazing team members who made our stay even better: Ana Ramirez Lara, Alejandro van Oordt, Ximena Malagon, and Fernando Carrasco at reception; Mauricio, Elazar, and Amir at Tunki; Angeles Martinez and Maciel at Andanza; and Magali and Elisabeth in housekeeping. Everyone was kind, attentive, and made a real difference.
You can also feel that this level of care comes from great leadership, so special mention as well to Michael Nather, the GM, for what is clearly a very well-led team.
A really special place in San Miguel de Allende. Warm, elegant, peaceful and full of soul. We would happily come back.
Thankful to have experienced this locational with suck great accommodations to ensure our stay was as great as possible! Lovely staff bottom up and the place itself was amazingly lovely!
Incredible stay at Casa de Sierra Nevada. Beautiful property and beyond my expectations. Highly recommend!
We just completed a 4-day stay in SMA, which is the most beautiful town in Mexico. The staff here went the extra mile to make our stay one of the best ever. Worth every penny! This is now our house in Mexico.
Beautiful gracious hotel in a perfect location. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Our bedrooms were luxurious and elegant and the food was delicious.
Came to this place for a wedding and the hotel staff did everything with care, respect, and perfect organization
