I like the staff, cleanliness of the hotel & room
Here's EVERYTHING I DIDN'T LIKE!!
1. You have to pay $15 per day for parking
2. Breakfast was an additional $25 per person for a buffet style breakfast
3. When me & my family arrived back to the room Sunday night, my room door was unlocked & wide open. My 1st thought was "maybe house keeping came in & didn't shut the door all the way." However, nothing was done in the room. Meaning, the beds weren't made, we had no towels or anything. I'm happy we took all of our personal belongings because why would my door be open & nothing clean.
When I addressed this issue to the front desk she was nice about it & escalated the issue to the manager (whom I never spoke with). A few moments later I get a knock at my door & she gives me towels & sheets. As if I'm suppose to make up the beds.
I didn't like my experience here but Bar Louie's & the front desk staff were really nice.
The rooms were really nice. The service was amazing.
Can’t think of anything.
The hotel was beautiful and clean as a whole. I loved my room! The room was great for the price I paid to stay. I felt comfortable.
There was hair on the sheets, not much, but it made me wonder about the cleaning procedure a bit.
Spent one night. Loved it!
The location is excellent, very nicely decorated and clean. The amenities were great.
When checking in we were given “vouchers” that stated
BREAKFAST VOUCHER
This $26 voucher entitles you to one breakfast buffet or one entree from the breakfast menu if buffet is not available.
Present this coupon upon ordering.
Breakfast still cost us $26 per person, the buffet was pretty standard…nothing special.
Very confusing!
Parking is $15.00 per night, it wasn’t very crowded. Not sure why they’re charging for it.
Had an absolute 10/10 stay at the Chicago Marriott Northwest! 🏨✨
Huge shoutout to the management and team for setting such a high bar for hospitality. From refueling with morning Starbucks ☕ to unwinding with great drinks and food at Bar Louie 🍸, every detail was on point. Exceptional service makes all the difference!
I have been at this Marriott for the last four years staying between eight to 10 nights a month. Yes, it was recently renovated and the location is excellent but it’s the staff that keeps me coming back. At the front desk, Cherry and Mackenzie are just phenomenal. Marilu is awesome in the M lounge. You won’t be disappointed!
Great stay at a great hotel. Cherry was so friendly and helpful. Thank you!
Location and cleanliness
No Microwave provided
I have been staying at this property for the past 20 years—initially for business and, more recently, to visit family.
Before addressing the areas that need improvement, I want to recognize the property's greatest asset: its staff.
Cherry at the front desk is consistently cheerful and welcoming. She is always quick to address any needs and, unlike at many Marriott properties, she consistently acknowledges and appreciates our loyalty and status. She is among the very best front desk associates I have encountered.
Marilu in the M Club is another exceptional employee. She works long hours, always has a smile on her face, and goes out of her way to ensure guests are taken care of. I cannot recall another M Club associate at any Marriott property who works as hard as she does. As a result, the food and beverages are always replenished promptly, and the lounge remains spotless.
Last, but certainly not least, is Rosario from housekeeping. She seems to be constantly working, yet always takes the time to ask if everything is satisfactory or if we need anything, all with a genuine smile. Her dedication and professionalism are truly appreciated.
Unfortunately, beyond the exceptional staff, the Chicago Marriott Northwest has continued to decline with each visit. Although the renovation gives the property a positive first impression, I encountered numerous maintenance and operational issues during my stay that fell well below Marriott standards.
In my room, one of the windows leaked during a rainstorm, and the shower door would not close completely, requiring me to wedge a towel against it to prevent water from escaping. The ice machine on the sixth floor was out of service for my entire stay, and it appeared that only one elevator was operating most of the time.
The M Club also had several shortcomings. The coffee machine was out of order throughout my stay, and although the lounge is advertised as being open 24 hours a day, there were no snacks or beverages available outside of the hours when Marilu was working.
Finally, charging $15 per day for parking in what is essentially an open parking lot is difficult to justify. I have paid the same amount to park in secure Marriott garages located in downtown areas. Unfortunately, these recurring issues create the impression that management is more focused on generating additional revenue than on maintaining the level of quality and guest experience that Marriott guests have come to expect.
I sincerely hope management recognizes the value of employees like Cherry, Marilu, and Rosario and does everything possible to retain them. They are the reason guests continue to return despite the property's shortcomings.
As a Lifetime Titanium member, I will most likely look elsewhere for future stays.
We loved the hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Clean and comfortable rooms.
I highly recommend this hotel.
Thank you for the hospitality!
We will be back ❤️
Trip Advisor booking page needs to be updated. It says free parking but parking fee is $15. Odd for a hotel in this location but we considered lot upkeep may not be factored into the room charge, so may actually be a savings for those without a car as the room charge was reasonable. Hotel has been updated and is comfortable and clean. The lighting in the hallways and bathroom are extremely bright, which was a bit annoying. Keshav at the front desk was very helpful during check in.
Interesting hotel. Good location for NOW Arena events. But they nickel and dime you way too much. They have an empty parking lot but they still charge $15 a day to park. That’s ridiculous. I hate when you go to a full service Marriott and they try to nickel and dime you all the time. I’m an ambassador member. And they make you feel like a number and not that you’re important to them.
That being said, Marilu in the M. club lounge was outstanding. Excellent service. She clearly gets it and is a real asset to the hotel.
